(Okay had to throw this in. We have a lot of K00Ky Jazz Songs - 40 of them- lying around our hard drives. We get the most giggle out of this one)
I don't care for your Fairy Tales..
This 2009-2010 season is already filled with rumors of teams taking the championship, kings never being crowned, champions never being dethroned, and the white knight charging in with the cards stacked in his favor with a team that plans on throwing everyones hopes away. There is the champion LA Lakers already taking a ride with Phil Jackson to his 10th NBA Title in 2009 and looking for another in 2010. There is the king, Lebron James, teaming up with Shaq in order to bring hope to Cleveland with a throw away of money and strategy that is sure to unseat the champions. There are talks of Portland battling Denver for the northwest division championship without any mention of the Jazz, and rumors like the Clippers and Kings vying for their foot on the race track. All of these rumors and predictions are missing the little “chime” of a Grimm Fairy Tale. Well I don't care for your Fairy Tales.
Reporters are down on the Utah Jazz this year for the championship or playoffs because they lack the faith and insight that the Utah fans still hold. I seem to think the reporters are wrong. Boozer is here for however long he can be; and it has been a standing point that when our power forwards do well, straying or not, we do well. My wish for this team in 2009 is to find your home, find your roots and let everything fall into place. I noticed one thing about Malone when he was on the “hot train” to stardom. He was our forward and even with his bickering and show-off tendencies, he was an important base to this team. Team if your listening, get back to basics. Toss the extra shot, defend that player even when the ball looks like its going to fly, and rely on the pick-and-roll whenever you need to. Let people tease about choosing Eric Maynor because he can do the pick-and-roll and has an “old style” to him. The guards that know that move, know their team like DWill, Stockton, and Maynor; take this team where they need to go. Also, move faster in the center and let the forwards work their magic and make the fairy tale real.
Horney's out there on the b-ball floor,
giving tips on Korver's three to drown the team next door.
'Cause Kobe has a harder time shooting more
and Phil Jackson's a frownin’.
N'Orleans is still singing their Jazz but with
a hornet Stinger that lost its zip today.
But, CP3 sleeps the whole quarter away as
Dwill keeps on scoring.
I don't care, for your finals dream.
You're so worried about the spotlight though you know
your just forgot the New Best Jazz Team.
New Jazz Team.
Tony Parker was out-dunked again,
but it's okay, Tim Duncan's psych degree will take it all away.
San Antonio tries but LA always drives by
with Nicholson smiling.
The blond Nowitzki lets out a cry of despair as he looses the ball,
and Ronnie Brewer caught air.
Millsap sneaks by taking rebounds away
and Kidd says theres always next year...
I don't care, for your finals dream.
You're so worried about the spotlight though you know
your just forgot the New Best Jazz Team.
New Jazz Team.
Once upon a time in a faraway kingdom,
Portland made up stories saying "We can just beat them".
Go and tell LeBron's might that he's awesome in hindsight,
But I don't want your next best thing.
So I cheer and hold my head up and I break these rumors around us;
Can't take no more of your finals predictions.
I don't care for your finals dream.
You're so worried about the spotlight though you know
We're only waiting, spent our lives anticipating. This is our happy ending and we will always keep persisting.
All the hype needs some mending and we deserve a happy ending,
'cause I don't want the next best thing.
So go all the way our Utah Jazz Team!
