Homecoming Reflections
It is Homecoming at the University of Utah this week. I am going to the dance. Yes there is a dance, even though we aren’t in high school anymore. Every Homecoming, high school or college, the school tries to reflect back on past memories. It always makes me reflect as well. Seeing as I am currently writing a blog about the Jazz, I am going to reflect on a couple Jazz memories. They aren’t necessarily “The Good Times” or all of our accomplishments, but they are just a few things that stuck out in my mind when I recall my past history with the Jazz.
Karl Malone: He signed with the Lakers. That is understandable, he wanted a ring. I still consider him one of my favorite players. Some people think he “sold out,” but he had given Utah so much already, I just wanted him to have success. After Stockton retired, Utah was going to have a period where our ship was sinking, and I am glad we didn’t pull his last useful years down with us. He will always be one of my favorites, mostly because he referred to himself in the third person, but also because of all the games he won for us.
Michael Jordan: This one will always be burned into my memory. Ya he was an unbelievable player, but he pushed off Bryon Russel in Game 6. You can find my face in the photo that is called something to the extent of Michael Jordan’s Last Shot. The utter disbelief at the no call is clearly shown.
Raja Bell: This guy was a stud. I wish he hadn’t left Utah.
Last, ????: This reflection is open to anyone. I can’t think of any more that really, really stick out, but in the light of Homecoming at my school, tell me what reflections you have. In regards to my reflections, let me know if you agree, disagree, think I am ridiculous, or what. Post your comments on the above reflections, or post a new reflection.

I don’t remember the year, for I must have been 11 or 12 years old. John Stockton had just hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to win the western conference over the Rockets and send the Jazz to the NBA Finals for the first time. Just recalling his reaction is priceless.
