As the Jazz are gearing up for a new season I wonder what others are doing to prepare for the season as well? When my children were younger I would make little Jazz cheerleader outfits for the girls and we all had Jazz shirts. Our vehicle was decked out with Jazz cling ons and the Jazz flag hung proudly on our house as well as the mini flag beating swiftly against the car window as we drove down the street. For many the start of the Jazz season is like a long awaited Holiday.

We hurry around to make sure everyone has something new to wear representing the Jazz to the opening game. As we depart the excitement is evident as the kids are squirming in their seats anxious to get to the Energy Solutions Arena.

For us the excitement begins the minute we get into the car. Once arriving into Salt Lake you soon realize that most of the traffic is headed to the Arena. Your heart starts pumping and the excitement starts to build. Ticket hackers standing on the street trying to sell you a ticket while others are trying to buy one. How exciting is this? Approaching the Arena the first thing you notice are the amazing statues of those that once ruled the court. Entering the kids are anxious for the freebies and mom is anxiously awaiting the fresh pecans that you can smell the minute you walk through the doors.

For us it’s pretty easy preparing for game day but do we stop to think about what the players do in preparing for that day. The hours they put into their practices. The grueling hours put in day after day. The anticipation of the beginning of season all with the same goal in mind. The fans as well as the players are united with one thing on their mind throughout the season. The CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE. We watch the game anticipating a win yelling and screaming with each play made. Good, or bad it doesn’t matter we are the JAZZ! United and together in the arena, the adrenaline is like nothing you’ll ever experience anywhere else. You can feel the excitement as the seats begin to fill up. Old and young alike we are all there for the same reason.
