Rumor Had It
Did anyone else notice that last season, Deron Williams had a few new moves. At the top of that list was an ankle breaking crossover. The move was smooth and polished. He was breaking guys down left and right and driving by them, getting in to the paint. As the crossover was leaving its impression on the opposing players as well as the fans, I started hearing people talk about where the crossover came from. The rumor was that Dee Brown had taught the move to Deron over the summer. It made perfect sense considering that Deron and the “one man fast break” are great friends.
Having grown up together playing ball for Illinois, Dee probably knows Deron and his game better then almost anyone else. “We are friends and I show him respect and love for his game.” Says Dee, adding that, “It’s been like that since we were 17.”
So did Dee teach Deron the crossover? I asked him to confirm the rumor. “Nah” he tells me without hesitation, “He always had that. He just dropped a little weight. He got a little slimmer and he tricks people with it. He’s only going to get quicker and better.”
Dee is as genuine a guy as you will ever meet. Fans are going to miss seeing him around. But regardless of where D-Will picked it up – it’s going to be nice to see that crossover again this season.

I’ll miss Dee, and I wish him nothing but the best in his career in Turkey. Hope to see him in the NBA again someday.
I am so sad to see Dee go…. He is such an explosive player and a very hard worker! I think he deserves a starting spot somewhere, he adds so much to a team on and off the bench/ court. He will turn out to be a very good Pro player either in Europe or the NBA. Good Luck Dee! You will be very much missed by the fanz in Utah!
