It’s A Good Thing AK is Staying Here

It is so much easier to be negative about subjects. Criticism has a certain flow unlike praise. It is much easier to seem educated when you are constantly pointing out how everyone else isn’t. When creativity is low, negativity is high.

So on a positive note, I am very excited AK is committed to playing for Utah again. Check out this play. He is unlike any other player in the league. He’s multi-talented, much like a Swiss Army Knife. Of course he can be whiney every once in awhile, but so what. Have you ever seen Allen Iverson talk about Practice? Check this out. That’s about the most ridiculous thing in the world. If AK comes to play, I really think he can be a top player. Jerry Sloan wants to win, and AK wants to succeed and play well. Those two are positively correlated.

If the Jazz want to repeat what happened last year in regards to making the Conference Finals, they need to work with Andrei to make the relationship work because he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Like I said in an earlier post, things definitely went our way last year. We might have been a little lucky. Houston and Phoenix both improved during the off-season, and San Antonio did not get any worse. AK coming back to play for us is a positive thing, the likelihood of us getting anyone as valuable (like Shawn Marion) is very slim. It is easy to say we don’t need AK and that Boozer and Williams can get it done without him, but I don’t think that is very likely. We need AK to step up if we are going to repeat last year. I am glad he is backing off the trade demands slightly and will remain in Utah for the time being.

With that being said, I am excited about the first pre-season game this Wednesday against Milwaukee for a few reasons, A-It marks the beginning of basketball season, B-It might give us something to think about besides AK’s mouth. and C-I have tickets. Go Jazz!

I love what Jeff Hornacek is doing for AK. He is teaching him how to shoot, and more importantly, he is teaching him how to be the third best player on a contending team.
