My Live Take on Last Night

Bucks 90 Jazz 81 — Final Score
The Bucks closing line-up outplayed the Jazz closing group.
Jason Hart struggled a bit, but he is a player who is going to play better with better players. When he is on the floor with lesser players his weaknesses get highlighted rather than his strengths.
Brewer and Almond looked the best of the shooting guards
Yi is going to be a nice player. He really can shoot.

Bucks 84 Jazz 79 — 3:36 4th Quarter

Desmond Mason has been playing Morris Almond very tight and has taken him out of his game a bit
Yi went up for a dunk and Fesenko stuffed it.
The Jazz have Hart, Almond, Gordan, Brown and Fesenko on the floor to close
They are struggling

Bucks 74 Jazz 73 — 8:54 4th Quarter
Coach Nissalke just made a great point. Players will eliminate themselves. Almond has done the opposite.
Almond moves without the ball very well. He cuts and takes good angels.

Jazz 72 Bucks 72 — End of 3rd Quarter
I have always been a huge Bogut fan, but for the first time I really don’t see it. He looks weak. He isn’t finishing near the basket. He looks off balance a great deal. I thought he would be a terrific pro, maybe even Tim Duncan light, but every time I see him I am beginning to think that will never happen.
Coach Nissalke has said this is a typical NBA pre-season game and not even a glimpse of what these teams will look like in two weeks.
It will be interesting to see who each coach tries to win with.
Brewer has 17 points. Most importantly, he got to the line 5 times
AK had 10 points on 5 of 7 and 8 rebounds and 4 block shots
Williams took over for about three possessions and them seem to move it around the rest of the way

Jazz 43 Bucks 41 — Halftime
Almond had 10 points and was very good. He has a great shot and can play in the paint. He didn’t show a handle.
Fesenko had 7 points in 10 solid minutes
Ronnie Price was 0 for 3 and CJ Miles was a little disappointing.
Jason Hart drove to the basket aggressively.

Jazz 33 Bucks 27 5:00 2nd Quarter
I have been really surprised by Fesenko. He made two nice moves inside the paint. Then he added a sweeping left handed move. He is better than the Sonics 1st round pick of two years ago Sene already.
Yi just made a jumper from the left baseline. He added another. He is very skilled.
He is good control of his body. He is very large.
Fesenko is the story of the night right now. He just rejected a shot on a drive by the Bucks.

Jazz 24 Bucks 23 8:27 2nd Quarter
Almond showed a really nice post play. He may be a perfect fit for this team.
He made a nice jumper and he is going to be a good player on the cross screen with his ability to post up.

Jazz 19 Bucks 13 End of 1st Quarter
Sloppy first pre-season game
Andrei was very active.
Brewer brought a good deal of energy. He was also 3 for 3 and had 8 points, 2 steals
Bogut missed a hook early, at least I thought it was him. The guy is wearing his uniform, but his hair is missing.
AK had 4 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

Pre-Game Notes
Matt Harpring will not play today.
Donnell Harvey is out.
Ronnie Brewer is going to start at the shooting guard.

Mo Williams of the Bucks will not go.

Yi Jianlian looked like very skilled in the warm-ups.

Locke - Let me first say you have honestly become my personal favorite radio personality in Utah, but I disagree with a couple of things you say here.

Fess - Although he looked pretty good offensively, his defense was horrible. He cannont defend the pick and roll and for being over 7 feet tall he sure did not rebound well. I will agree that he does look better than Sene, but that isn’t saying much.

Bogut- I thought Bogut played well and I thought he looked strong not weak. He man handled Okur all night long causing multiple second chance points. His TOs were a little high and that would be my only complaint.

I thought Brewer had a very good showing tonight, I will not be surprised to see him start when the regular season begins. I also was very disappointed with C.J. Miles, it looked as if he hadn’t played any ball the entire summer. The game gave me a good idea of how the new players can play and I’m very excited for the start of the regular season.
