Boozer rattles the Warriors

Hear the Rattle? (Rocky Widner - NBAE/Getty Images)
From Kobe and the fires to Baron and the ‘quake, the Utah Jazz finished their mini-California Disaster 2007 Tour by dismantling the Golden State Warriors 117-96. After the last game of the pre-season was canceled by fires in San Diego, a 5.6 earthquake rattled the bay area as Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams punished the Warriors for not learning anything from their playoff spanking of last season.
Who knows, maybe the quake was just a result of a Paul Millsap thunder dunk or a Ronnie Brewer rim-rattler. Either way the Jazz looked in mid-season form and Golden State looks like they still have no answer to Boozer and Williams….and Brewer and Millsap…and Andrei Kirilenko…and Jerry Sloan
As I watched the game last night, from the comfort of my couch and DVR, here were a few of my thoughts…
* It looks like Mehmet Okur is going for the Wayne Campbell circa 1992 look from Wayne’s World. “Party on, Excellent!”
* Ronnie Brewer is the most athletic 2-guard the Jazz have ever had.
* Baron Davis has a perma-growl on his face that would make Rasheed Wallace proud.
* Millsap, instead of Collins, in for Okur at center was a great move.
* Thanks to Tim Donaghy, the first questionable call by an official made me think of the over-under and The Sopranos.
* CJ Miles still couldn’t find his shot but had some huge rebounds.
*On top of the Wayne Campbell look, Mehmet looks like he is also going for the Don Johnson Miami Vice facial hair look circa 1986.
* From top to bottom the Jazz looked so good that Jerry didn’t have much to complain about.
* Andrei tore it up but didn’t look too happy during the KJZZ promotion where he had to, ironically, promote Dr.Phil –The Relationship Expert!
* Only 81 more to go…
