The REAL WNBA!

Several professional athletes have difficulty suppressing their opinions. Whether caused by the media stalking them like vultures around a juicy carcass, or their own Terrell Owens-ish need for public awareness of their day-to-day life, athletes often let their mouths run like waterfalls of insecurity.
I suspect that the most interesting ramifications of such comments take place behind closed doors. Wives of players are friends, right? They must have their own ‘lil players’ wives club. They have their own cheering section.. at least in the movies. So what happens when players go to the papers to play cheap shot battleship with their teammates? I wonder what kind of friendship Ms. Williams and Mrs. Kirilenko had when D.Will took shots at Kirilenko’s work ethic. Did Masha just blow off Deron’s comments? Did Amy stop shopping at Masha’s Galleria Mall store until Andrei shaped up?
It must be difficult to guide personal relationships through the media’s fixation with controversy. Anyone have any stories involving feuding wives? Theories as to how they resolve their husbands’ conflicts? For you ladies out there, how would YOU handle such situations?

I always say that you can say anything about me but I turn into a raging bull when you put my husband down!!! Being the wife of a coach was hard enough but the wife of an NBA player would call for a LOT of maturity. Avoiding the fans like I found myself doing during the season is really not the good answer. If the wives can continue to be friends and not mention what the husbands are going through with each other it would be great. If the wives begin adding in many of their feelings it can get pretty bad. Most men can get pretty upset if things are causing his wife to hurt. I think that if both players and wives could be like Sloan and not read or listen to media who often have things a little embossed they will do better. There was once a story on the players wives all together having fun before a game and maybe that is the time to talk about what they, as a group, will do in situations before they happen.
