The smoking guns

There’s a new player on the Jazz roster. No, I’m not talking about Fes; although, wasn’t it fun to watch him play in the Laker game? No, the new player I’m talking about has been on the team before. I’m referring to one Andrei Kirilenko. Triple double, and near 5 by 5 aside, I saw something in Andrei that I haven’t seen in a long time. Maybe I was finally just lucky enough to see the correct camera angle, but last night, “it” came back.

The “it” is the intangible “it” that can’t easily be practiced, “it” can’t truly be explained, but you know IT when you see “it.” Last night you knew, I knew and Andrei knew his 3 point shot was going in, before it left his hand. It’s been so long without “it.”

Friday night, there were so many clues in facial expression, and body language that we could spend an entire sports psychology class picking that apart, not to mention an entire biomechanics class diagraming “the shot”. But, I’m happy just to revel in the knowledge that it’s back or he’s back or however you want to describe it.

Hey, how bout it? Should we give the new guy a raise?

I think AK already got his raise.

Now he’s earning that $14 million.

And, quite nicely, I might add.

This was actually better than vintage AK-47, which commanded the raise in the first place.

I think you’re right J.R., better than vintage A.K. As usual, similar to what you said a couple of months ago; my tongue was planted firmly in my cheek when talking about the raise.

Geeeze, you’d think I’d figure that out by now, since I walk around most the time trying to extract my own tonge out of my cheek. Ya’ got me!

Trying to think back, I’ve seen all his 5×5’s and triple doubles, and I think this is the best game he’s ever played.
Watching the replay, he got that 5th block, just a split second before, Paul batted it away and received the credit. Plus, he had ZERO turnovers!
    Quite an exhibition!

Great game to be the first one to be there in person. I’m not computer smart enough to know where you go to see salaries. Just for my curosity I’d like to see coaches and player salaries. No special reason except curosity and figuring out what they can and can’t do another year. link@decdi.net
