Me Too

One of the rules of cyberspace is that me too posts are poor form and unnecessary. I know just about every blog on Jazzbots up here now is about the Lakers, but I just can’t help chiming in. First, I have to agree with JR. Twice actually. 24 MILLION DOLLARS?!?! Does the front office really think that Dr. Pill is worth that? For what? More money than sense I guess. Second, Yes-It was sweeeet! Watching that game at ESA Friday night was purely the most fun I have had at a Jazz game ever. The way our team played (against a full-strength upper tier team!) was fantastic. The fact that we had 70 points at half time without Boozer was just phenomenal. I am so glad I got to see it in person. I will definitely remember the moment.

Like most Utah fans, there is no team in the country that I more enjoy giving a whooping to than LA. The hating that goes on between the fans of these two clubs is a bizarre form of sports respect. Booing an opposing team or player is (usually) done because the other guy is so good that you somewhat fear him coming to play in your house. Like Kobe. So I also have to agree with Keith in his response to the fans who booed Fisher. What the heck were they thinking? The Jazz are better because he came here last year, and they are better this year because he left. He should have been cheered, as I suspect he will be next time he is here (and loud enough I hope to erase the memory he has of Friday night).

The incident reminded me of the GSW final playoff game last year. It too was a blast to attend…until the end when some stupid fans starting throwing stuff at the team we had just eliminated. I thought then of how the rest of the country would judge us, and it left a bad taste in my mouth after a great win. Friday night’s crass behavior is just going to add to that negative perception. I really hope that nothing else like this happens. I want to be proud of being a Jazz fan, and have other fans respect that pride.

I also have to agree with the Mueller’s post about Fes, an instant fan favorite. I mostly liked what I saw for such a raw young guy, but my favorite Fes moment was in the fourth quarter when he unselfishly gave his teammate the ball under the basket when he probably could have slammed it in himself. I love team players and team ball! Annie is also right about AK-he has IT this year and it is good to have him back. What a show he put on with ZERO turnovers! And Tammy, I will be happy to get in on that action with Mark next time-for whatever he can afford to lose.

If only we could bottle the energy, skill, and fun from that win Friday night. Go JAZZ!
