FINAL SCORE — JAZZ 110 HEAT 101
Very strong 4th quarter by the Jazz
Wade didn’t hit a field goal from the 6:25 mark
Jazz only had 5 open (scoreless) possessions in the entire 4th Quarter
Okur was the star of the night — 25 points on 10 of 14 shooting.
Fantastic passing by the Jazz tonight.
38 assists on 42 field goals by the Jazz.
Deron had 15 assists and just 2 turns.
The Heat took a lot of things away from the Jazz with the defense and the Jazz held their own going to the next option.
1:19 4th Quarter — Jazz 103 Heat 94
Memo Memo Memo — huge three ball — high pick and roll d-will and booz and the jazz kick to memo for three and he buried it.
AK also hit a big 14 foot baseline jumper off great ball movement
Jazz got three stops in a row defensively which is what they preach.
2:50 4th Quarter — Jazz 98 Heat 92
Offensively the Jazz are just great — they have scored on 8 of the last 10 trips
Brewer is working hard on Wade — forced him into a 16 footer he missed.
Boozer just got a lane violation on the 1st of 2 free throws by Shaq
4:48 4th Quarter — Jazz 91 Heat 89
Great game
The Heat have taken away the D-Will to Boozer pick and roll.
Back to back brilliant plays by the Jazz — D-Will alley-opp to Brewer coming from the weakside, that is what is open because of the way the Heat are playing the pick and roll.
Also, AK hit D-Will on a slice cut.
Brewer is on Wade and Wade has gotten rolling — is it time to go back to AK?
Shaq has 5 fouls and is on the bench.
8:58 4th Quarter — Jazz 81 Heat 77
AK just hit Hapring for a lay-up. The Jazz are the best passing team in the league. Their are not many teams that have one forward who can pass like AK or Booz not to mention two. It is an amazing luxury.
Cook hit a big shot off a curl. D-Will needs to D up on him.
AK has the assignment on Wade.
Again, close game v. Wade is a bad script. Jazz need to make a run.
End of 3rd Quarter — Jazz 74 Heat 71
this is nervous a close game v. Wade
Jazz struggled late in the quarter with Hart on the floor.
Jazz went on a 8-0 run and the Heat answered
2:35 3rd Quarter — Jazz 74 Heat 67
Big play from AK to Booz seems to have sparked the Jazz
Wade is playing very well.
Memo continuing to have a good day.
Ronnie Brewer defensively is able to swipe and hit the dribble. Their aren’t many guys in the NBA who can do that. The personal guy next to me said he and Rajon Rondo are the best.
Halftime — Heat 53 Jazz 52
Heat are shooting 60%
Memo is 6 of 8 and 3 of 3 from three for 15 points
Boozer has 13
Wade is doing most of the damage for the Heat though they are also hitting shots.
Jazz had a great defensive stretch with terrific energy late in the 2nd quarter
Jazz are not doing a good enough job on the defensive glass tonight. Miami is the second worst offensive rebounding team in the NBA and usually only get 20% of the offensive rebounds and today they are near 33%.
4:19 2nd Quarter — Miami 45 Jazz 42
Miami rookie Daequan Cook might be really good one day.
Gordan went 0 for 2
Memo has three three’s
Jazz aren’t playing with a great deal of juice. They have not been able to string a run together.
Miami is running a lot through Shaq. Memo is battling him hard.
Shaq just got his third foul
End of 1st Quarter — Miami 32 Jazz 31
Wade has 10 points. He looks very sharp
Heat shot 72%
Jazz shot 59%
Gordan is playing to open the 2nd Quarter
3:29 1st Quarter – Miami 26 Jazz 24
Jazz are now 10/14.
Miami has played brilliant and now they are only up 2.
Boozer is rolling.
Memo has two three’s
5:01 1st Quarter — Miami 24 Jazz 16
Miami is shooting it — 10/13
No surprise after getting blown out last night you would anticipate they came out firing.
The Heat went to Shaq a lot early using him as a conduit for the offense.
Wade got some easy looks down low.
Memo leads the Jazz with 5.
Keys to the Game
1. Run run run
2. Avoid close late - Wade gets every call
3. Lay-ups
