He’s Baaaaack!

Take a Memo.

Okur played, in the Miami game, like his pre All-Star performances of last year. His shot was sooo smooth, that you were yelling MONEY before it rippled the net. 25 points and 4 out of 5 three pointers and he shot a hot 71%. He also played like his quixotic back was no problem, as demonstrated when he made a power dunk in the 1st quarter. Shaq Daddy was unable to waddle out to cover Memo and the result was caching, caching, caching, caching…$MONEY$.

D-Wil and Booze had their usual (FANTASTIC!) games with 24 and 15 assists and 24 and 15 boards.

The Amazing Andrei had 10, 9 assists and 7 boards. He shot in rhythm and looked more comfortable than he has been. Obviously he’s been on Dr. Hornacek’s psychiatric couch and it’s helping AK.

Brewer had 17 points, but had his problems, only shooting 36% and failing to finish some layups. D-Wade schooled Ronnie, but he’ll do better the next time. That’s the value of being able to play some minutes against one of the premier shooting guards in the league. He did have a spectacular ally oop in the 4th, where he skied over Zoe and had to hold on to the rim, above Zoe’s head, waiting for him to clear, forcing Zoe to swat at his legs to prevent Ronnie from getting him in a scissors hold around the neck or riding him like a bucking bronco.

Shaq really looks like a shell of his former self. Chronologically he’s 35, but waddles up and down the court like he’s 55 years old.

The ghost of Anfernee Hardaway was supposedly on the court, but was invisible. Did anyone see him play? Now that was a great pick up!

Unlike the Laker game, the Jazz bench was invisible too, but the starters carried the night.

I thought Shaq had slowed down but in that game he showed that he has no desire to play. Why stay? He certainly doesn’t need the money. What about that bit about going out when you are on top?

He needs to be more I don’t know. Score a little better.
Because, when Okur wasn’t here the Jazz were horrible.
When he returned. It remained the same. Except for 3-pointers
sometimes. LIke last night against the Celtics. He was there
for the right time. But then other times in the game he just
didn’t shoot. When he had the opportunity he didn’t shoot it.
Seemed like he didn’t quite have enough confident to do it.
Or else he would’ve shot it. Maybe.
