Nicknames Revisited
Just a quick post today– there were some good responses to my last post, and I thought that I’d give those of you who might be too busy, or well let’s face it– too lazy, to click on the comments button–the chance to see some nicknames for other Jazz players. One comment suggested that Gadfly might be too feminine a nickname (no comment from me on that one). Another person thought that Contender might be appropriate for Kirilenko; I think it’s best for Paul Milsap. Another suggestion for Milsap was the Postman, and yet another was Bulldog. It was suggested that Deron Williams could be called “The Human Torch,” very apropos for his game. Somewhat jokingly, it was suggested that Giricek should be called the “Traveling Salesman.” Boozer was given the moniker “The Beast” and Ronnie Brewer was compared to Batman. Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks has also been given the nickname Batman (among others), so I don’t know if we should allow that in the nickname league rules. What do you think for Fes? How about the man-child? (Of course I mean that in a Mowgli from the Jungle Book kind of way, not a mean, he’s so childish-way).
I’m sure there are many more great ideas for nicknames, so let’s hear them. In my opinion the more sarcastic the better! (You know, like Gadfly-sheesh, some of you take me way too seriously)!
