A little something from us…
Posted by Karen Chatterton on December 15, 2007
We are of a generous nature at this time of the year. That includes 6th graders who are often preoccupied with their own wishes for a “Merry Christmas to me” thoughts. Many of them, however, took a few moments to offer their Christmas wishes to our favorite NBA team, the Utah Jazz.
Hailey wishes the Jazz a “big thank you” for trying their best and working their hardest. Forest wishes for them, a week off for Christmas, “so they can go and spend Christmas with their families because so many of them are far away from home.” Ben would give the team new jerseys with new colors. His suggestions? “I think they should be gold, white and light purple. I think it would be cool to see new jerseys on my favorite team, the JAZZ!”
Herald went straight to his point. “I would give the Jazz a win on the road. They need a confidence boost. The defense is horrible. They need to start playing as a team, they are forgetting how to play as a team.”
All of our class wishes the team and staff members a wonderful holiday season. We are grateful to Mr. Miller for keeping our team here in Salt Lake. The Jazz are not only a great, wholesome and entertaining way to spend an evening, but their work ethics, dedication and determination are closely noted by the many children in our community. As a parent and teacher, I feel that this is essential in helping our young people become contributing citizens in our community. Children quickly identify with sports figures. They need to have individuals who have excelled in their chosen field and exemplify honesty, hard work and humility. Thank you,Utah Jazz, for giving our community so much.
