Odds and Ends
Posted by The Mueller’s on December 16, 2007
While watching the Sonics game last night, my family and I had a few observations. So please bear with us on the following totally RANDOM thoughts.
#1 HALLELUJAH the streak is over. That’s all we’re going to say about that.
#2 After watching many games –oh so closely –to see if she could tell what the tattoos on the back of Deron Williams arms say, my daughter finally was able to get a good enough view on the TV to announce that it says “No Guts, No Glory”. Good to know. Thought you’d all need to know that as well.
#3 When did the Sonics change their jersey’s to say “Seattle” rather than “Sonics”??? Is this a subtle hint to the ownership that they would like to STAY in Seattle? Maybe the jersey change happened awhile ago but it was new for me.
#4 I am a emotional wimp, as you all know by now, but . . . Yes, I did feel sorry for Seattle in the fourth quarter. Those poor guys couldn’t hit a thing. It was frightening.
#5 What’s with these LOWER BOWL season ticket holders who don’t go to the games or don’t stay till the end of the game?? If I was ever lucky enough to get seats there, I would park myself there until the bitter end. It’s embarrassing when the camera pans out to see empty chairs. I’m sure there are many in the nose bleed section that would love the view from those lower bowl seats!
#6 At the end of the Jazz game, they played a Manheim Steamroller Holiday song (like the PC term ???). Are you telling me there wasn’t a better song to celebrate the end of a streak like we just ended??? Whose in charge of the sound system here??
#7 Finally, we all need to do our part, whatever your beliefs may be . . . pray, chant, cross your fingers, do a ceremonial dance, . . . that this is the beginning of a beautiful LONG win streak. Again, I’m putting my money on Santa to deliver . . .

And why do people keep using the “Super” when it was officially changed to just the Sonics several years ago?

Good for you!!!! I have been trying to figure out the tatoo also. Does it seem to you that he has some new ones this year? I’m old fashion enough to feel likr you need to prove your greatness on your floor play and not on how many ulgy tatoos you can get on a body. In my days we got tatoos but only where they were hid and were seen by those “closest” to you.
I’m glad you feel the same about those unfilled seats. It doesn’t say much about the Jazz when the seats seen on TV are empty. If they can’t use them one night then let someone else use them. Maybe do a random act of kindness and give the seats to someone you don’t even know. I, like you, would feel like I had died and gone to heaven if I had the chance to sit there during a game!!!!
