How About Those Jazz?

The Jazz interior defense was nonexistent. They had one of those nights, like the Lakers had in Salt Lake. Quite the flip-flop.

Actually, it was more about how the Lakers played. When the Lakers play, like they did last night, and against Phoenix, they look like the best team in the league. They play Boston Sunday, who they lost to on the road in November, so we can get a better idea how good they really have become. However, so far, they are coming on strong. They’re where the Jazz thought they might be at the start of the season. The Laker defense was strong, relegating the Jazz to jump shots. The Laker offense was clicking, even with their subs on the floor. What looked like a disaster, at the start of the year, has turned the Lakers into one of the 5 best teams in the league.

Kobe was unreal! (Coming from a Laker Hater) You may not like the person, but right now he’s the best player in the NBA. Maybe Kobe should stick to playing and leave the roster decisions to management (ie, chasing Shaq off or demanding Bynum be included in a trade turned out to be disasters).

Brewer and C J continue to play well and sealed Gira’s fate to be traded. Kyle Korver will help the Jazz with 3 point shooting and is more of a small forward than a guard. Physically they’re almost interchangeable. Good trade Kevin!

It will really be a Happy New Year, when the Jazz finally finish 2007 and get back to a better schedule.

    I was proud of the way our bench played against their bench. Perhaps they’re is a glint of promise there. The mothering part of me feels badly for Girecek but that is part of the NBA. Looking back I think maybe a lot of inner contention may have been coming from there most of the year. Good luck Gira and we welcome Korver and his 3 point shooting with open arms. My math was never great but I do know that when we make 2 points each time and they make 3, it doesn’t come out even. I agree what a great player Kobe is. Don’t like him as a man but you can’t deny the way he plays HAPPY NEW YEAR

    I am glad the Portland Trailblazers did not lower their standards to Utah’s level of play on the evening of December 31 at Utah’s home court our team has more class than that/
