I went to last night’s game against the Bucks. While I’ll agree with you that being there beats watching on TV, I STRONGLY DISAGREE that everything adds to the excitment. Quite frankly, there is TOO MUCH Noise.
Positives: The Jazz Bear. He’s funny. He gets the kids attention. He makes people laugh.
Neutral: The Jazz dancers. They are talented and pretty. They work hard. I guess you have to have a dance team to be considered “major league”.
Negatives: Practically everything else. The constant bombardment of lame music. Does anyone EVER need to hear “we will rock you” again in their life? The t-shirt cannon. Basically a device to make people stand up wave their arms and scream like idiots for two full minutes. This adds to the atmosphere how?
What ever happened to going to watch the game that’s being played? Shouldn’t that be entertainment enough?

I love to be at the game — to watch the game, to hear the crowd, to feel the tension when someone is at the line needing to make free throws. Not to catch lame t-shirts or soft balls.
My point is that I go to the game FOR THE GAME, it is so much better to feel the game by being there than to see it at home. But, if you are going because of the other stuff, I can see that there is less of a draw to being there. Besides, the upper bowl seats don’t get even 1/3 of the “spiffs” that the lower bowl does and being in a “lucky section” doesn’t really mean that much. And in the hundreds (yes hundreds, I have been a season ticket holder for 7 years) of games I have been to, I have only seen the blimps drop stuff into the upper bowl maybe 15 times.

Great Comment.
I agree with you completely. I wish I could be there for every game. I also cant wait until I move back to Utah and can get season tickets. I live in Colorado now and the only games I can see them in is when they come to play the Nuggets. But it is a lot better at the Arena, I love it. GO JAZZ.
