Thanks to Mother Nature

Ok, I had tickets to the Jazz game for the 8th of January and was so excited to finally make it to a game.  Well, guess what we ended up getting a major storm come through and I still have 6 tickets to the game.  With that storm we ended up receiving another 6 inches of snow on top of the 12 inches we already had making traveling to the city next to impossible.

So, here I am once again not going to a Jazz game yet this year.  I’m sure my view in front of the TV is probably better than some of the views from the nose bleeds but as I’ve mentioned before there is nothing like being in the middle of the excited Jazz fans.

My kids were all bummed because the night we were to go they were giving out hats as the promotion and they were excited to be able to see Boozer.  We had planned on getting there an hour early so they could hang out down below and watch the players warm up a little before game time but thanks to Mother Nature that didn’t happen.  Now I have kids bugging me to get more tickets.

I’ve been checking on schedules to see who has what day off and if the Jazz are home on those days. But, for now my family and I will have to settle for watching the Jazz in front of the TV just thinking of the excitement at the actual game and anticipate when we can actually be a part of it.

I completely understand!! The only thing that may be worse is kissing your
husband goodby as he leaves to drive the 120 miles to meet the son at the game and youn get to watch on TV!

Well the good news is that you weren’t one of the 40 or so people who got their car broken into that night.

My friends car was missing a window after the Thursday game and his i-pod (which was out of sight) was stolen. Then we found out that we were just one of many victims of Jazz game theft… they caught some of the thieves on Thursday (too late for us unfortunately) but it was $1000 of damage to his new car, plus the i-pod which he hopes to get back.

I’m curious as to where you were parked or as to where these thefts took place?

Sorry to hear such Tammy, Now git the drive way cleared will ya? That stuff can pile up on ya! :)

I have seen the Jazz play three times in the past 4 yrs, the last was nose bleed but had 3 grand children along with a son his g/f and mine as well! Right after T-day it was, what a super night.

We try to make one game a year, the rest of the time its the tube, which not so bad either. Cuz it’s a big one!

They main thefts were in the lot northeast of the ESA. My friends car was parked on 4th next to West High School. If you havent’ heard about this, it’s because it was not covered by KJZZ or KUTV. But you can read all about on KSL. Ch 4 and 13 also had a story on it.

Why in the world wouldn’t all media want to cover it? It’s no black eye to the ESC or the Jazz but it is a service to the public to make sure they have nothing in their vehicle worth stealing. I guess it might be because the population may holler about a litle more patroling around the lots during games.

I finally saw Ch. 14/2 news cover the story the other night, since the SLPD are trying to find the owners of the items that they recovered. I hope it wasn’t an intentional non-coverage, that would imply that the Jazz have some pull on what goes on the news. It may have just been bigger on Ch 5 since they broadcast right next door to where the thefts were.
