Ron Detest

Not since The Human Circus Side Show, The Tattooed Lady, with her multicolored hair, nails and the multiple personalities of Dennis Rodwoman, has such a display been perpetrated on the sporting public.
You may detest Ron, but he does play with great emotion. He has great athleticism and basketball skills. It’s just his Schizoid personality and antisocial conduct, which seem to get him into repeated troubles, both on and off the court. He has been rewarded by sitting out most of one year for his rumble in Detroit, where he chased fans in the stands. He has been deactivated for an extended time while awaiting his trade to the Kings. He is a constant item in trade rumors to move him once again. His career has been as unstable as his personality.
Just when he helps his team back into the game, he self-destructs. The Junkyard Dog (aka Matt Harpring), to his credit, took no guff, gave as good as his was given, keeping his head, while those all around him (well, maybe just Ron Detest), lost theirs. Matty just watched, and probably stifled an internal giggle, while Ron’s head expanded and expanded, with the veins pulsating wildly, finally exploding like a ripe melon, creating quite a mess for the ‘broom’ boys and his teammates to clean up. The Kings never recovered. It was like he had an early rendezvous to go clubbing and just couldn’t wait to see how the game ended. Teammate comments were noncommittal, but they were probably thinking, “thanks Ron for helping us in our playoff push!!!” But, in all fairness, perhaps he was just going out early to the lobby and promote his rap CD, to see if he could push sales closer toward the 100 mark.
He should have been thrown out much earlier. His obvious extra ‘delay of game’ no calls, provocations and the attempted elbow to the back of the Kyle Korver’s head, should have initiated a launch into orbit. The ref’s were more tolerant than Ron’s mom. What game were they watching? Throwing a punch or an elbow at someone’s head should have been a ‘flagrent’ 2 foul, by itself, and an automatic ejection. Officials let this one get way out of hand. Where was Coach Reggie? Shouldn’t you pull a key player out, before a smoldering fire becomes a major conflagration? A fight could have easily started, with all of his provocative behavior, resulting in suspensions all around.
You would have to be a very desperate GM to trade for Ron Detest, thus, he’s going to the Knicks! Thanks Isiah! Keep those Knicks on their present course, until the Jazz can snare the your 2010 draft pick. Kevin, be sure to pick the card with the bent corner, fresh out of the freezer, during the draft lottery selection.

Hey that’s what I said!
“Artest was inciting the crowd, and exhibiting all sorts of passive aggressive behavior on the court. Hand butt and then locking you up and such. Harp was ready to take him out the game! Even though he could, he did not, Artest took himself out of the game. He is one that has proven himself either incapable or unwilling to exert self control in almost any situation.
Artest is but a wipe, sure he can play, so could Rodman. I’m amazed that anybody in the league picked him up, even more so that a western team did.”
But you did the subject much better than did I.
I love you grandpa/ nice article
