We are slightly impressed

‘Ron and Karl - a Resemblance?’ (NBAE/Getty Images)
While watching the last match up between the Sacramento Kings and the Utah Jazz; I noticed just a slight resemblance between Ron Artest, and Karl Malone. I think it’s the cheekbones. When I thought of Karl Malone, I was reminded that I haven’t heard anyone speak in the third person for a long time. And so, we have decided that what’s good enough for Karl Malone, is good enough for Annie Whittaker. From now on Annie is going to do a complete 360, and write this post how Annie Whittaker wants to. (Please tell us you know what we just referred to)!!!!!!
Annie thinks the Sacramento vs. Utah game was a good home win, but home wins aren’t going to get the Jazz a spot in the playoffs. The game was a nice engine revver for Andrei Kirilenko offensively, and for Matt Harpring on the gridiron ESA floor. All the Artest v. Harpring business was good entertainment for Annie because January is a rough month with the winter blahs and all, and she needed something to light a little spark.
Derron had some head spinning assists, Carlos was awesome, Memo was; there.
The best moment for Annie was the post game interview on KJZZ with Andrei Kirilenko. He was friekin’ hilarious when he said that all of Ron’s antics didn’t bother him because of his cold Russian blood. It takes a lot to get him chot! You need to try and watch the clip for the full effect with his accent; he really seems to have a great sense of humor.
Now, on to Houston. We thought the Jazz did very well; the absence of Yao Ming not withstanding. McGrady did his comeback thing in the second half, but Kyle Korver made up for any gains that Tracy McGrady may have garnered. Our last contribution to this post consists of a little song we’ve written by ripping off the country band, “Alabama.” We composed this little verse after watching a Dallas Mavericks game, the Utah vs. Houston game, and numerous San Antonio spurs games.
“If you’re gonna play in Texas; you gotta have a fiddle flopper in the band on the team. That lead guitar straight up “D” is hot but not for an Louisiana Argentina Man. So rosin up loosen up that bow tie Sloan, for “faded love” and let’s all dance the refs’ll call fouls-all night long. Cause when you play b-ball in Texas, there’s gonna be a flopper on the floor.”
That one goes out to Devin (Harris), Lois (Scola), and Manu (Ginobili). Just imagine the difference in the game if flopping wasn’t allowed. Thanks to Dick Bavetta for looking the other way during the Houston game. Scola and a couple of other guys were acting like Alaskan Salmon during spawning season. I haven’t yet seen the Spurs vs. Utah game, but I bet Manu will be ready to defend his title as the flopper King!
One more thing, Kyle Korver is really showing what a good pick-up he was for the Jazz. Thanks again, Kevin O’Connor!
