I found this on ESPN.

Done Making Deals?
Senior vice president of basketball operations Kevin O'Connor, said he's not going to make a deal that's just reactionary to what others have done.
"I think you make a mistake in trying to keep up with the Joneses. What you do is try and improve your team, and if you can do something that does that, we would look to do it. If it doesn't, then we're not going to do something.

"Are we afraid to make a deal? No, we're not afraid to make a deal if it improves our team. Are we going to have conversations? Sure, everyone does it at this time of the year," he said, not divulging if there's anything serious in the works. -- Deseret Morning News

Asked about the likelihood of a deal, O'Connor said: "On a scale of 1 to 10, I have no idea. I don't have an answer to that and I never give an answer to that and one of the things that's difficult is at this time of the year, from now until Thursday, things will move quickly.
"To say today that we don't have anything or we do have something and where it can go -- first of all, I wouldn't do that -- but I really don't want to do that because it's not fair. You just don't know." -- Deseret Morning News

He totally quotes me on what I said on Feb. 10th. So he reads this. Go Jazz!!!

I'm available for work Mr. O'Connor :)

The dallas-kidd deal is done and more importantly Desagana Diop is in New Jersey. I say we trade hart and a draft pick for Diop and bring Dee Brown back from spain. Diop is a great defensive presence and we only have to play him against the likes of phoenix, san antonio, houston, and none of the eastern conference teams. plus he's a free agent at the end of the year. So we can focus on Fesenko being our big man after he leaves cause fes just ain't ready for the NBA quite yet. Man I wish I were a GM.

i agree teams dont wan to just give away there best players. the only team doing that is memphis....because no one wants to play for them. the west is stronger than ever. but jazz is a team that will stay together and wont have to take time working on someone who needs to get used the jazz play. hart toook forever to get one play down. and price is finally showing the fans what we all knew he was capable of doing. hart does not have to lay much this year. the point guard for the utah flash is playing very good as well. he can be the backup to price and d-will. hart is just not right with this team. just like raja bell who played for jazz a couple of years ago. just doesnt work when someone who is not happy here and still stays with a team that is trying to make it back to the playoffs and win it all this year. we might not win it all this yaer but with the team that utah has i think that the ring(s) will come. patience and two future star players in the d-league will get the jazz where they want to be. jazz rock and have been a fan for quite sometime. my east team is indiana and oneal is someone i thought would be a hall of fame player. but with injury i dont think jazz should take another risk at this one. boozer trade was ok and were happy. jazz ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree I dont think they will end up making a move. There's no way indiana is parting ways with Granger half the reason they are getting rid of oneal is because they like granger that much. Oneal costs to much for the jazz. I like our team the way it is really. I dont think collins is that bad andf we really need three point guards. So we'll see how it all plays out

I doubt that the Jazz make any more trades before the deadline.
Remember when all the Jazz fans used to BOO Kevin? These past two years have made the Jazz scout team look brilliant. Of course no one is going to be 100% correct (Hart), but with Williams, Brewer, Millsap, Korver, Price, and now Almond... We can handle some Collins and Hart.
I am surprised that the Jazz aren't using Collins to pick up some of those 3rd quarter fouls, but I think they are trying to give the backup center and power forward minutes to Millsap, and I can't disagree with that!

I have been really happy with the Jazz Mgt these past few years, and with crazy trades w/ Shaq, Kidd, and Gassol... I'm glad that the Jazz aren't throwing away tomorrow...

oh yeah thats a good thing justalars......i do wish desagna diop was a jazz man by next thursday. dallas becomes weaker i think with kidd going to dallas because devin harris was a rising point guard. i like they way he plays and i think that that oneal fromt he pacers can also help the jazz but its is unlinkely that he can end up in utah because of the demand rightst that pacers would want. collins and hart and CJ can make their team better so therefore that wont work. jazz will just have to bring fes back from d league and let him play for the second half of the season. if the jazz get a shot blocker then the jazz will trade him the following year because they will have Fes as the backup center. and i totally dont knwo what the jazz will do. i would not be suprised if the jazz dont make anymore trades. thats all for this year. they may have to go after a point guard for this year rather than a big guy because Fes will fill that spot next year and maybe this year if o'connor takes a risk. and please dont even think about trading AK 47 for wallace ....i would trade an all-star lik AK for players like danny granger and dunleavy together. or Monte Elis and barnes for AK. i really hope the jazz dont make any mistakes. tell me what ya'll think!

I think all jazz fans should be praying for the kidd trade to go through. Because then New jersey will have a plethera of of big men. Especially if they trade vince carter for jermaine o'neal. Which as of yesterday had a 70% chance of going through. they are looking for expiring contracts (hart and miles) plus draft picks. I would love to see desagana diop in a jazz uni. He's averaging 1.2 blks and 5+ rebounds per game. I think he would be a perfect back up for the jazz. Although Jerry sloan says the jazz arn't looking for a trade. one set back is cj miles has the same bird rights that george used to block the trade. so either not use him or hope he doesn't block it. Only time will tell. Pray for New Jersey and Indiana to make their trades with Dallas. It'll take a miracle

there are only 6 players who make more than Jarron collins does this year. Okur, kirilenko, boozer, d. will, korver, and harpring. I'm not against collins but its no secret that we need a shot blocking center. So collins fits in as a piece for the trade. I also think the only way we trade kirilenko for one is if we can get an elton brand or some very good center who would probably end up starting for the jazz. It makes no sense to me to trade one shot blocker for one who just fits a specific position.

The only thing Collins will do against Shaq is fall over. He might have a big body but he doesn't ever use it. Maybe if he used his body to get more production he wouldn't get verbally picked on all the time. I'd really like to see him level somebody driving to the basket. send them a message. We just don't see that from him. Thats why the jazz want a defensive center now.

What's up with all the Jarron Collins haters? You are all crazy! He doen'st cost anything and he's a big body you can throw at Shaq--who by the way, the Jazz might be facing in the playoffs. He also provides a great intelligent locker room presence. In the crazy NBA world $2.5 mil per year is a great deal for a guy like JC. Also, the two guard spot is difficult to figure out. At the beginning of the year I just wanted to see one guy step up--I got more than I had hoped for. I wouldn't be shocked to see a CJ+Hart for Jeff Foster deal. I also wouldn't be shocked to see a CJ--or Almond--for anybody deal. I love their attitude and game, but four decent two's on a 15 man roster seams a bit much.

At the beginning of the year I just wanted to see one guy step up–I got more than I had hoped for. I wouldn’t be shocked to see a CJ+Hart for Jeff Foster deal. I also wouldn’t be shocked to see a CJ–or Almond–for anybody deal. I love their attitude and game, but four decent two’s on a 15 man roster seams a bit much.

TRADE HART CJ AND COLLINS...between those three guys maybe we could pull off an amazing trade like the lakers did. Maybe bring big FES up from the d league to give some heart to the defense. Maybe a lucky pick up like the seven foot center from LA Andrew Bynum who is averaging 13.1 points per game. Hey we pulled a lucky trade with Korver how come we cant do one with Bynum?

Everyone pretty much has the same comments here. Jaron Collins sucks. His only position on the floor is HACKER! In transition he ALWAYS fumbles the ball on a pass and never makes the play. Horrible. Hart does nothing but dribble and shoot. How many times do you see him make plays? Not very many. Trade both for 1 decent center. Kwame Brown would have been an upgrade!!!

Regardless, the jazz need a big man who can be a presence/stopper inside, whether he is the back up or not. Memo just isn't cutting it defensively

Wake up everyone. I know Collins doesn't do much, but how many back up centers in the NBA do anything? Who do you honestly think we could get? STARTING centers are hard enough to come by these days, so do you really think teams will just give up some athletic, shot-blocking monster to come off the bench for us? In today's NBA, you just aren't going to get a great back-up center. What the Jazz need is a quiet, mild-mannered, smart, coachable guy who is willing to accept his role and stay in the offense. You know, a guy like.... Jarron Collins.

However, Price over Hart seems to be completely logical.

JUST STOP PLAYING JASON HART. PRICE DESERVES TO START. If he thinks Hart has better defense, why did Ronnie Price guard Kevin Martin in the second half of the kings game. Price has better defense. Runs the offense better. Hart just looks awful out there and lets our lead get taken away every game. Sorry sloan but what are you thinking. Hurt his feelings already, it has to happen.

I think "Jon" is really onto something... i had this conversation with 2 people as we were leaving the jazz/pacers game a few weeks ago... Jermaine Oneil would look pretty good in a jazz uniform is all i can say...might respark his career, i believe he is far from his decline. just needs to be with a contending team
