FINAL SCORE — JAZZ 116 MAVS 110
16-0 run was the key to the win. Went from trailing 92-89 to leading 105-92
The Jazz put together the best sequence of defense I have seen all season in that stretch
Harpring pushed Howard out of his comfort zone forcing a miss
Okur blocked Terry on a drive
Boozer ripped Dirk
Dirk drove and the help defense forced him to shoot early
Kover then blocked Terry.
The offense tighten the screws and got to the line.
Mavs had 0 points in the paint in the 1st quarter; 4 points in the 2nd; 16 pts in the 3rd and then only 4 in the 4th quarter.

4:43 4th Quarter — Jazz 98 Mavs 92
Energy Solutions is erupting after a Korver three in transition.
Jazz worked hard to get back to back free throw opportunities
Great defense from Harpring and Okur on the last two plays.

5:34 4th Quarter — Mavs 92 Jazz 91
Their are some tough match-ups on the floor. Dampier is playing the 5 and guarding Boozer. Okur has to defend Dirk which is not great. With AK out Harpring has been doing a great job on Josh Howard but that is tough.
If the Jazz can get Dirk to guard Boozer they need to go at it.
Kidd plays unbelievably hard. He is all over the place. He bangs down low and plays smart on D-Will.
The Mavs are going to Dirk it is not clear where the Jazz are going.

End of 3rd Quarter — Jazz 87 Mavs 81
This is going to be a possession by possession game by the time it is over.
Dallas has the mo and I am not sure how the Jazz are going to get it back.
Howard had 10 in the quarter. Terry had 11
Jazz need the bench to be very good in the 4th

2:39 3rd quarter — Jazz 79 Mavs 75
Mavs are scoring at will.
It all started when the Mavs went at CJ Miles who is playing for the injured AK. Howard crushed him and got going and now the Jazz are having a tough time getting stops.
The Jazz offense is stonewalled as well. A lot of D-Will bail out right now.
huge play — Mavs missed, Harpring got a tough rebound and got stripped by Kidd who kicked out to Terry for a three.

Halftime — Jazz 64 Mavs 50
Jazz shooting 61% Mavs at 50%
Williams has 14 assists and 11 points. Kidd on the other hand is 0 for 3 and 6 assists.
20 of the Jazz 27 field goals are assisted.
Okur went 5 for 5 - 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Points in the Paint is 26-4 in favor of the Jazz

2:37 2nd Quarter — Jazz 59 Mavs 45
AK is going to the hospital for more X-Rays on his hip. The initial X-rays were inconclusive.
Jazz had it up to 19 again at 50-31 but Mavs stormed back
They were within 9 at the 4:15 mark but Jazz took it back to 14.
Crowd is booing Dirk everytime he touches.
Kidd makes the Mavs a much faster team
Korver hit a big three in transition.
Okur is playing very well

End of 1st Quarter — Jazz 37 Mavs 24
Jazz jumped on the Mavs from the start.
Opening play was a gorgeous pass from D-Will to Boozer for a lay-in.
Jazz got the transition game going and D-WIll hit two pull up jumpers.
Dirk had butter fingers early and committed two turnovers, usually for the Mavs. Mavs had 6 turns and the Jazz had 11 points off the turnovers.
Dirk hit AK hard on a fast break foul and AK is likely done for the game with a hip injury. It is being x-rayed. He came down hard on the hip.
Jazz bench let the Mavs get back into the a bit. Jazz lead by 21 at one point and for 19 for most of the quarter.
Jazz shot 68%. Boozer 5 for 5. D-Will has 7 assists
Mavs shot 56% after a slow start.
Ronnie Price had 3 fouls in 1:29

Keys to the Game
1. Keep Mavs in the half court
2. Keep Howard in his funk
3. AK or Okur need to have good nights.
4. Win the bench battle

Key Numbers for the Jazz v. Mavs
The Jazz have the #3 offense in the NBA against the Mavs #10 defense.
The Mavs have the #8 offfense in the NBA against the Jazz #12 defense.
The Jazz are poor taking care of the ball but the Mavs don’t force many turnovers
On the flip side the Mavs take great care of the ball but the Jazz force a lot of turnovers.

Jazz showed the real potential to become more than they might think they are tonight!

Mental, tenacity, DEFENSE, Hustle, and an outright desire to prove who they are! As a TEAM!!!

I almost awaited for Harp to Deck dirk very hard, didn’t happen. That is probably Ok, especially for Harp. As it was the TEAM Jazz that would be paying the price for such, not just Harp.

But the JazzMen rose to the challenge, took it on, and won the contest of tonight.

The Jazz took the Mavs down as a team effort, and that same team effort needs to be present for the rest of the season.

    Go Jazz!

Lets don’t get too excited, we still need to win on the road. I don’t mean against a team like the T-Wolves or the Grizzles, a team that can play. Remember playoff games are also on the road, and we won’t have home court advantage. I am not trying to take anything away from these players, the Mavs win was a big win and a well played game. They will show me something when we play good on the road. C-Bizkit5 OUT!
