My Take: Jazz Vs Nuggets

FINAL SCORE — JAZZ 132 NUGGETS 105
Jazz had amazing focus tonight.  They never got caught up in the Nugs style of play.  They also never blinked in the 48 minutes to allow the Nugs back into the game.
Okur was terrific — he has been for some time now.
the 2nd Quarter was the story of the night
Everyone played great tongiht –
Milsap had another really strong game 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals.
Memo 27 points and 11 rebounds
Deron 16 assists and 14 points.
Denver brought a lot of energy to the game early on and the Jazz matched it and then pounded them.
Jazz shot 60% and hit 11 of 15 from three.

End of 3rd Quarter — Jazz 108 Nuggets 75
Insane performance
Jazz have never blinked.
Jazz won the third 31-21
Memo has 25 points and 10 rebounds  — he has a double double in 5 of his last 6
It is also Okur’s 12th double double in his last 17 games.    - He had 2 prior to that the entire season.
Jazz are still shooting 62% and 10 of 12 from three.

8:59 3rd Quarter — Jazz 87 Nuggets 54
Boom Boom Shake the Boom.  Boom Boom Shake the Boom.
I have no idea what that means but it is playing on the speakers in the arena and seems very appropriate as the Jazz open the half on a 10-0 run going Boom Boom Shake the Boom  to end this game and seal the Northwest Division.
Okur just hit another three.
Halftime — Jazz 77 Nuggets 54
Second time this season the Jazz have scored 77 points in a half.
The Jazz scored 43 points on 26 trips down the floor — that is unreal.  15 of 21 from the field and 6 of 7 from three.  Eight three’s in a half was a franchise record.
Okur was fantastic.  He hit 4 three’s mostly in transition from Deron, who has 11 assists.
Deron was moving guys like a puppetier on the floor tongiht.
Jazz are very sharp tonight.   They are staying in their game and playing in their skin rather than trying to be the Nugs.
Memo has shown the ability to drive to the basket again tonight
Milsap played the three to match-up with Anthony
The bench has been great — Milsap 4 for 4; Harpring 3 for 5; Price 3 for 3; Korver 2 for 2.

6:16 2nd Quarter — Jazz 52 Nuggets 40
The Jazz are sharing the ball really well
The Nugs get some easy basket because they push the ball relentlessly.
Iverson is tough.
Strong balance from the Jazz due to great ball movement and super passing for easy looks.

End of 1st Quarter  — Jazz 34 Nugs 26
AI put Ronnie Price in the wash cycle.  He just worked him everyway he could when they got matched up.  No offense meant to Ronnie who answered great on the offensive end with two buckets.  On the other end Iverson just has so many skills.
Jazz were very smart offensively in the 1st Quarter. They didn’t get too caught up in the Denver style of play.
Jazz shot 58%.
Iverson has 13
2:50 1st Quarter — Jazz 26 Nuggets 19
Lot s of energy in the building
The Nuggets are playing very hard so any thought of a tired opponent looks to be out the window.
Brewer has the defense on AI
Miles has the assignment on Anthony
Denver is swapping those two assignments on the other end.
Miles is playing better tonight than last night
Boozer was working well inside early.

Keys to the Game
1.   Win the bench battle
2.   Keep the Nuggets off the line
3.  Make the Nuggets defend for whole shot clock

Key Numbers for Jazz v. Nuggets
The Jazz are the #2 offensive team in the NBA, the Nugs are the 5th best defensive team in the NBA
The Nuggets are the 11th best offensive team and the Jazz are the #11 defensive team in the NBA

The Nuggets play the #1 pace of any team in the NBA at 98 possessions per game.

Wow Okur was great, Miles played very well for AK. I like this teams style of play when they are focused. They just might go all the way

I’d say that David got himself a bit excited for typing by the end of the game eh?

JazzMen did a fantastic job on the nugs.

That game was awesome. The Nugs are so immature. I love how irritated they get with Harpring (Especially Melo’. Is he ever going to grow up?)

Boozer’s name was not mentioned once, just thought I would point that out. Obviously the Jazz are deep and everyone can score. I think we all can thank D-Will for that. Amazing when the Jazz can ebarrass a decent Nuggets team without AK playing and the only All-Star on the team not really having a great game.
