TIEBREAKERS
With 9 teams separated by 6 games atop the West. Chances are that when the regular season ends and all the smoke clears – several teams will find themselves tied with another squad.
If you have ever wondered exactly how the league declares a winner and advances a team out of a tie breaker… Wonder no more.
In order from one to six – here is the criteria used for the tiebreaker.
1. Head to Head Records
2. Best record in Division
3. Best record in Conference
4. Best record vs. playoff teams in your own conference
5. Best record vs. playoff teams in the other conference
6. Most net points from all games that season (and you wonder why Denver and Golden State Run on Offense).

Good stuff to know, thanks.
Maybe someone should have reminded our players several times!!!!!!
On the tie breakers, how will the Jazz stack up against those most likely to be in the 5th spot?
I know that if we win the Denver game, that will give us the Division tie breaker, but if we lose, then it will go to the Conference record, which would be the same, with the loss. So how do our records match up against Western playoff teams, including a Denver loss? Do the Jazz still get the tie breaker or not?
Assuming the Nuggets don’t get the 4th seed, what does it look like for the Lakers, Suns and Rockets, if the Jazz end up tied?

they own the tie breaker against phoenix, if they beat houston they will own it against them, the lakers own the tie breaker, the spurs are tied with us at 1-1 we play them twice in the next two week. Our division record is fairly poor so i’m not sure if we’d beat anyone there. I know denver’s is better than ours i dont know aboutthe other teams
The best record in division tiebreaker is only for teams within the same division (http://www.nba.com/statistics/playoff_picture.html), so doesnt apply here.
