My Take: Jazz Vs Wolves
Posted by David Locke on April 02, 2008
FINAL SCORE – Jazz 117 Wolves 100
For the 13th time in franchise history the Jazz notch their 50th win of a season.
Deron ended a stretch of 33 assists and 0 turnovers with his only turnover of the game mid way through the 4th quarter.
Jazz finished the night at 60% and 55% from three.
Minnesota shot 47% after tearing it up in the first half
For the second straight night the Jazz used the three as a weapon hitting 12 three’s.
End of 3rd Quarter — Jazz 91 Wolves 72
Jazz have double figure three’s for the second night in a row – At the end of three they have 11.
Deron told me on the Fab 5 at 5 that they were going to go for 20, maybe he wasn’t kidding.
Harpring looked like he strained a groin. He stayed in the game.
Deron now has 30 assists without a turnover.
4:52 3rd Quarter — Jazz 77 Wolves 61
The three’s are falling again.
Memo is amazing. He hit two three’s where he caught the ball on his shoe tops and was able to hold his body position and hit the shot. That is remarkable if you are 6′1 and unthinkable if you are 6′11.
The Jazz have tightened some of the screws defensively.
Al Jefferson is being guarded well by Memo but he is also playing with absolutely no energy
First Round pick Corey Brewer doesn’t look good.
Jazz have a rhythm and it is all coming easy
Halftime — Jazz 53 Wolves 50
Minnesota is shooting 59% in the first half. They are also 5 of 9 from three. The Jazz forced 8 turnovers in the 2nd quarter. That kept them alive and held the Wolves to 23 points in the Q
Jazz offensively are putting up some big numbers but don’t look terribly smooth
Korver has three three’s and Price had those two prayers answered.
Boozer has been a non-impact
In his last six quarters Deron Williams 23
4:52 2nd Quarter — Jazz 44 Wolves 42
Ronnie Price bailed the Jazz out of back to back possessions with crazy shots at the shot clock. what is telling is the offense was so bogged down that the Jazz were only getting shots at the end of the shot clock.
Jazz are missing some opportunities that they should be converting.
End of 1st Quarter — Jazz 29 Wolves 27
Jazz have now allowed over 90 points to the Wolves in the last three quarters
The Wolves are running plays and the Jazz just can’t guard this group.
the Wolves are balanced and getting good looks
The Wolves are not turning it over and that is allowing them to have good possessions.
Jazz got 7 from Memo. Deron has 6 assists.
Jazz shooting 61% and the Wolves are at 55%

I have got to say watching them on tv or listening to them on the radio are just not like being in the ESA watching it actually happen in front of your eyes.
I had just experianced my first Jazz game and got to take it all in. It was amazing to see the intensity of these players on either side play.
It was amazing to see the Utah Jazz play with such intensity and focus. And how they put down those three pointers down is beyond me.
I had gotten into the game just like every other Jazz fan and that is what it is all about to me.
