We here at Jazzbots, the official blog of the Utah Jazz, would like to congratulate Jazz shooting guard and fellow blogger Morris Almond for being named as the 2007-2008 NBA Developmental League Impact Player of the Year.
Due to the fact that NBA teams can assign younger players to their D-League affiliate at any time through out the season, the Impact Player of the Year was created to honor players who join a team after the start of the season. Almond has played in 34 of 50 games for the Flash, starting 32 times. Going into the game Saturday, Morris was averaging a league best 25.1 points on 44% shooting, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 37 minutes per game.
Earlier this season Almond tied the D-League record for points in a game held by Clay Tucker at 51. He then went out and broke his own record scoring 53.
The award was voted on by the 14 head coaches of the D-League.
Congratulations Mo.

Congratulations to a great basketball player!
Hope to see his performance on the court for Utah the next season. Come on, young guy. You’ll get Sloan’s trust soon…
