True Blue Through and Through
We spent last week in Mazatlan, Mexico. My sweetie, Galen of 37 years, and I enjoyed taking long walks on the beach, beautiful sunsets, and watching the Jazz play. Yep, we are dyed-in-the-wool, true blue through and through. Galen checked his email daily to keep track of when the Jazz were playing. The games were broadcast in English, with all of the screen stats in Spanish.
When Galen found out about the playoff schedule, he headed straight for the sports bar in our hotel…to find a television, the only place we could find a tv that could get the feed to watch the Jazz play. We sat in anxious anticipation of the game. It was broadcast on ESPN 2 International in Spanish. There we sat, cheering and coaxing the Jazz onto victory.
It was also interesting to note that we saw Jazz pennants hanging from the ceilings of restaurants, a sure sign that other Jazz fans had visited before us. We fans love our Jazz, no matter when we are. It just goes to show what ‘true blue’ means to us, crazy fans that we are. It is little wonder to me that our area is so noisy. With so many Jazz fans cheering from various places around the globe, some of that extra energy must find its way to our team.

It’s been a while since we’ve been down to Mazatlan, back when Morris Travel existed and they would have cheapie, off season flights and hotels. We had a bunch of old Jazz teeshirts with us and the beach vendors all wanted our Jazz teeshirts. We ended up going home without them, so if you happened to spot any old, old, ragged, music note, Jazz teeshirts on the vendors, they just might have been ours.

MAZATLAN WHICH HOTEL DID YOU GO TO IM GOING NEXT WEEK 5-12 MAY NEED TO SEE JAZZ GAME THANKS
GO JAZZ
We watched the game at the Mayan Sea Garden. You can see the game just about anywhere if you ask for it. You could try “No Name Sports Bar and Grill,” and several others in the Golden Zone will probably accommodate you.
Mr. Stewart is not the only one who left Jazz T-Shirts with beach vendors in Mazatlan. Karen and I did the same many, many years ago. If I remember right, they were yellow and had “Coors” printed on them as well.
