FINAL SCORE — JAZZ 123 Lakers 115
WOWOWOWOWOWWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOOWWOWOWOWOOWWOWOWOWOWO
The Jazz hit the 16 free throws straight to end the game - the last miss was at the 9:03 mark of the 4th
Memo hit two big field goals
Deron was just brilliant today. His first half kept the Jazz in the game and then he closed it
Kobe was clearly hampered by the back injury. Kobe was just 1 of 10 from three. He was not the same.

35.5 Overtime — Jazz 115 Lakers 110
high pick and roll and Deron turned the corner and finds AK for a bucket and a foul. Ak hits
Kobe with a sick drive to the basket — say what you want he is a warrior

2:53 Overtime — Jazz 110 Lakers 108
Kobe’s back is an issue. He is not moving well. He just fell to the ground after a foul call was made on AK (bad call should have been offensive on Kobe for fending off). Kobe has not been going to the basket. He is shotting threes and doesn’t look like he can elevate.

OVERTIME — JAZZ 108 LAKERS 108
Fisher blocks Deron.
Lakers scored 8 straight possessions to close the game. That is pretty awesome on their part, that goes into the other guys are good too category.
Fisher has been the story - the Lakers are +8 when he is on the floor and -19 when Farmar is on the floor. Not a good sign for the OT.
Kobe had just three points in the 4th quarter
The techincal foul call is a huge part of this game. And it was garbage.
Gasol and Fisher both have 5 fouls.

04.6 4th Quarter — Jazz 108 Lakers 108
In bound got deep into Kobe he missed and Odom followed for two. Boards have gone to the Lakers today.
Jazz with a chance to even the series coming out of the timeout.

:07.8 4th Quarter — Jazz 108 Lakers 106
LAkers are inbounding.
Deron has made back to back sick plays
Deron and Boozer both hit huge clutch free throws
Lakers are living by the three — they ran a Kobe-Gasol pick and roll designed for an Odom three. He hit it Fisher has three threes in the quarter the keep the Lakers alive.

2:54 4th Quarter — Jazz 102 Lakers 94
A BS tech just got called on Memo by Eddie Rush total garbage - it means the Lakers have a chance for a three point possession with the free throw and the ball. This game just changed big time.
Jazz lead 102-91 when Boozer slipped a pick for a lay-up.
Derek Fisher has hit back to back threes to keep the Lakers in the game. One was a second chance bucket.
Kobe may be really bothered by the back he is scoreless in the quarter. I doubt it though.
Jazz are running the side pick and roll and Boozer is slipping - Deron is sneaking a pass through the double to Boozer. Odom is now leaving early - this means Memo will be wide open for a dagger three.

5:06 4th Quarter — Jazz 96 Lakers 88
Jazz better stretch this out before Kobe takes over or is it too late for that
AK got stripped again going into the lane
Jazz had just 3 offensive rebounds in the first three quarter and have that in the 4th already
Korver missed two big threes both were early in the clock and bad ideas.
Jazz are in the penalty - if they make the free throws they are in good shape.
Will Kobe guard D-Will down the stretch?

9:04 4th Quarter — Jazz 90 Lakers 80
What is Phil Jackson doing? We always have Jazz fans wondering about Jerry. How about Phil playing Jordan Farmar again, going to Dj Mbenga without Turiaf instead of going small and picking up the tempo.
Who am I to question Phil and his 18 rings, it is probably equally as absurd as the questioning of Jerry.
Korver hits a big three, Milsap is being a monster on the glass.
Game is very physical and the Jazz are getting a good whistle

End of 3rd Quarter — Jazz 79 Lakers 75
Leading at home going into the 4th is a good thing
Kobe has been adminsitering something to his back all game and went down on a drive to the basket, I assume it will mean nothing but who knows.
Kobe had 8 of their 20 points in the third
Boozer got doubled in the post and passed out twice for big buckets, once to Harpring cutting and to Korver for a three.
Okur stepped up to open up the 3rd quarter.
Less fouls, still limited turnovers and the game has slowed down a lot.
HERE WE GO — EVEN THE SERIES BOYS !!!!!
Halftime — Jazz 55 Lakers 55
Phil made the substitution of going to Walton and Sasha as the guards and the Jazz didn’t get a stop in the final 5:00 of the quarter — Lakers scored on 10 straight possessions and ended the quarter after the substitution on a 21 to 10 run.
The only good news is the Jazz ended the quarter with only two fouls on Boozer, D-Will and Okur
If you are the Lakers you are feeling great, you missed 10 free throws, Deron is on fire and Fisher has just played 3:30.
27 foul calls in 24 minutes of action.
Lakers are winning the rebounding battle at 26-20
Deron is great, he is 7 for 9 with 19 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists.
Okur is 1 for 5 and Boozer is 1 for 7.
Lakers shot 71% in the second quarter.
2:36 2nd Quarter — Jazz 48 Lakers 42
fireworks opened the quarter when Rony Turiaf hit Ronnie Price on his way to the basket and it was a flagrant 2 and automatic ejection.
The game has very little flow with an incredible amount of fouls.
Foul trouble is a major issue - Fischer went out @ 8:35 with his third foul. Jazz lead by 7.
Interesting move by Phil Jackson, he is going without a point guard and with Walton, Sasha and Kobe.
Deron is guarding Sasha and Sasha is holding his own.
Deron, Boozer, Okur, Odom and Gasol all have 2 fouls.

End of 1st Quarter — Jazz 31 Lakers 21
Jazz hit the Lakers with an onslaught on energy. Wow
Lakers are shooting just 35% and 4 of their ten field goals are put backs.
Matt Harpring played very well off the bench while the Lakers bench struggled.
Fisher/ Farmar is the story again today. Fisher was +0 and Farmar was -10.
The other night Farmar was -13 and Fischer was +8, the same was true in Game 2
The Lakers offense was out of synch. Jazz were on the break.

2:44 1st Quarter — Jazz 23 Lakers 19
Brilliant start for the Jazz bu the Lakers have withstood it.
Jazz got out in the open floor and were running, highlighted by two alley-opps to Brewer
Jazz got D-Fish in foul trouble again, he got two with the score 6-6. Jazz went on a 11-3 run immediately.
Deron is killing Farmar
Booze is somewhat quiet with just 2 points and 1 of 4 shooting.
Brewer is playing very soft on Kobe when he goes to the post. Kobe has 7 points, Gasol has 10.
Ben Bagley reported pre-game that Odom was having hamstring issues and he was very non-existent and left early in the quarter.
Jazz 64% shooting, Lakers at 35%

Keys to the Game
1. Keep Gasol off his spots in the offense
2. Big day for Memo
3. Get the pick and roll going
4. Stay out of foul trouble.
5. Win the bench battle
Officials
Eddie Rush (22 seasons, 152 playoff games)
Joe DeRosa (19 seasons, 88 playoffs games)
Sean Corbin (15 seasons, 32 playoff games)

I’m sick of hearing all the analysts say how much better the Lakers are. I haven’t been impressed by them any more than any of the other western conference teams all year(Except for the Memphis give away). Thanks Chuck (Charles Barkley) for sticking up for the Jazz

Go Jazz! Monster games by Andre and Deron.

PS Jazz fans, can we please stop booing Derek Fisher??? He is the man, and he left the Jazz for the noblest of reasons. It is so embarrassing to hear the fans boo him. He did a lot for the Jazz last season: leadership, mentoring, confidence and great defense to name a few. I wish he hit as many 3-pointers then as he does now though.

Hasn’t it been so nice the last two games not to see that old toad Jack Nicholson puffed up on the side line? And to actually get to watch the game and not some interview with an old player or movie star? Good times…
