Sunday the Jazz brought in 5 players for a pre-draft workout. While only time will tell if any of the attendees will end up in Utah long term – at least one of the attendees was surprised/relieved by his first visit to Salt lake City.

Florida Center Marreese Speights on coming into town – “When I came here yesterday I expected way different. This is kind of like a city, I expected cows. It’s a pretty good town. Kind of like the workout today you have good people around you. It’s really good out here.”

While Marreese might have been taking note of the size of the city, Jerry Sloan took a contrasting view on the size of the college program a player comes from.

Jerry Sloan on college program size -”There are some guys that have played at smaller schools that have done pretty well. Maybe better than guys at big schools that they had to compete against. I don’t think teams take that into consideration, unless they see a guy has tapped out at his talent level.”
