Do you wonder if you have what it takes to be a Utah Jazz Official Blogger? Perhaps you’ve had dreams of Sports Writing stardom via the internet. Well, it’s time for Season 2 of the Jazzbots to be launched and now can be your time to shine.

In preparing for the upcoming season, we’re looking to fill several positions as contributing authors to the site:
Enter below

  • one season ticket holder from the lower bowl,
  • one season ticket holder from the upper bowl,
  • a college student,
  • a housewife,
  • a young working professional,
  • a Jazz family,
  • an elementary school class,
  • a Jazz fan

Entrants need not be die-hard basketball junkies or even those who attend games, nor do they currently need to be familiar with the concept of blogging. They just need to be Jazz fans with a passion to write to other fans about their favorite team!

Successful writers will receive a “beat” to cover based on their entry. Beats could include team performance, player activities off the court, life in the upper bowl, urban legend and Jazz folklore, or other categories based on individual interests. The selected contributors will also receive tickets to select Jazz home games; access to front office / senior management; and some nice Jazz swag.

Entrants should have good, basic writing skills, access to a computer and be willing to submit blog entries twice per week. The blog will run year round and has no end date at this time, and the positions are volunteer.

To enter, send an essay to writer@utahjazz.com complete with:

  • Your full name
  • Complete email address
  • Phone Number
  • Which blog position you would like to be considered for
  • In 250 words or less, why you think you should be chosen and why other Jazz fans would be interested in your perspective.

Entries with full contact information must be submitted no later than midnight, August 6th.
You can also submit it online by using the form at the foot of this page.

We look forward to reading your entries. Good luck!
