Linda McFarland: Featured Jazz Fan
Posted by Daye Derrick on July 25, 2008
Regular readers of Jazzbots know there are few Jazz topics that Linda does not touch. She’s everywhere on this blog. We wanted to get to know her better. This is what we found out…
Where do you live?
Boy, talk about tough questions!! I can do alright on where I live. It is Lava Hot Springs, Idaho.
What is your favorite Jazz moment?
Wow, there is always the rather worn out moment of Stockton’s last minute shot, the great nail biting series come back game against Houston a couple years ago. The tear choking moment of Fisher returning to the second half of the game 2 years ago. DWill making last minute 3 pointers to win a game. It was a great moment this year during the series to see a big smile on Coach Sloan’s face (darn it, I can’t remember which game). The game last year when Millsap went crazy, really pounded the boards, and was high point man. A couple years ago must have been good because it was really a moment when CJ hadn’t played more than just a few minutes when he was put in a no-chance game and made 3 pointers over and over and over again. I know there is no defining moment but right now I just can’t bring a “moment” to mind.
Who is favorite player?
As, with millions of others it would have to be DWill because besides being a great player he truly “cares” about the team, the coach and winning for the fans. If I go away from the millions I would choose Matt Harpring because he is a steady, hard working player who is there when needed. He doesn’t complain about minutes or that kind of thing (that is apparent to the fans anyway). I understand he is nice to fans asking for autographs. He is not always on top of his game (which is true of all players) but he is there and you can count on him. He will crash the boards and is not afraid of contact.
You are probably complaining that this crazy woman can’t even give a simple direct answer. Same thing my husband says.
No complaints Linda, looking forward to hearing more from you on Jazzbots.
Go Jazz!

How fitting – a ‘big picture’ thinker getting a big picture!
