Basketball Winter is Almost Over

The first Utah Jazz game is less than a month away!

Let this serve as an early reminder to anyone who might want to try out; National Anthem auditions are on Friday, October 17, at the ESA in Salt Lake City.  Check out the Utah Jazz home page for specifics.  Please, if you’re going to try out make sure and sound more like this, and not at all like this.

On a more serious note, I just read that Coach Don Haskins died.  When I was growing up, even before I decided to go to the best basketball school in Utah, I would watch their games along with BYU basketball games on t.v.  There was nothing like watching either team play at UTEP.   No matter how good a team was, all bets were off when they went down to play against Coach Haskins and the Miners.  At that age, all I knew was that he was a great coach.  I had no idea of the true legend that he was.  Please read more about him and his contributions here.

When does training camp start for the Jazz and are they going to have any sessions open to the public. I can’t wait for basketball, I’m usually preoccupied with football right now. But all hopes of Alex Smith figuring out the offense and leading the 49ers back to thier glory days just died! (Broken Shoulder) I can’t handle another 4-6 win season.
