True Blue Haiku
Posted by Annie Whittaker on September 16, 2008

The Olympics are over, and its September. The general dearth of basketball in my life inspired the following. I encourage everyone to come up with their own Jazz Haiku and share it with us (especially if its funny or clever) in the comment section.
September, silent.
Spalding sits idle, waiting;
The hardwood beckons.
Autumn’s promise,
The Jazz season approaches
My heart’s song begins.

Bravo, you guys followed the general rules for Haiku, which I didn’t include in my post. Three lines, 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables.

Haikus are very difficult to write. I’d rather do a rhyme!!!
Heart skips a beat when
The logo is shown anywhere
Excitement,nerves, hurry.
The fans all go crazy
When the Jazz take the floor.
The time is here, oh boy, oh boy
The waiting is no more!
