Today Jerry Sloan held an hour long meeting with the players before the opening practice.   His message had two parts.   First, you have a chance to be very special.  The talent is here to set your sights and goals at the highest level.   Part two was the important part.  If you are going to do this you will have to defend and you will have to win on the road.

Sloan sighted how the Boston Celtics came together on the defensive end and played together as a team.  Talking with the players they all seemed to get the message.   One player was less willing to talk about Sloan’s demands for defense than the others.  I will let you speculate.

I think we all know who it might be…and the fact that he seems to have the skills but lacks the motivation puts a pit in the stomach of most Jazz fans.

Can you believe one week, ONE WEEK from today we can watch our Jazz play on tv???????? Then one week from tomorrow I get to be to a pre-season game! I still can’t believe tthat I am lucky enough to get to go to 13 home games this year. I think maybe I have died and gone to heaven. I don’t have any Jazz clothing to wear but I will be there with bells on. At least all the players know what is expected of them, now we will see who really cares.

speculations a-go-go! i could think of 4 players that he may have talked to.

i can imagine that the only one who didn’t want to talk about it would be Dwill; and that is because he is a fairly strong defender himself, but didn’t want to throw anyone under the bus for their lack-luster defensive efforts.

Linda, I think you’re rubbing it in!!! Just kidding, by the way, if they do it again this year, they will have a special deal at the games where you can pick up a t-shirt for 10 bucks or similar. Don’t buy something before the game only to be saddened that you missed the special. I imagine by the end of those 13 games you’re gonna be Mrs. JazzFantastic with all of your bling.

DWill? No way Jared. Its obvious Locke is referring to someone else by the way he presents it.
