Toombstone, Arizona. 127 years ago, the most famous gunfight in the history of the west is about to take place. It has come to symbolize the struggle between law-and-order and open-banditry, by some teams, in frontier towns of the Western Conference, where law enforcement was often weak or simply nonexistent

The West is starting to shape up. Marshall Wyatt Earp (Coach Sloan) and Doc Holliday (Coach Johnson) are about to gather their posse (The Jazz) and have a showdown with the Clantons (Lakers) at the OK Corral.

There will be blood in the streets, before this is all over.

Marshall Jerry Earp spins the cylinder of his Colt 45, making sure all the chambers are loaded. He wants a powerful starting five to come out of the gate hard each night. He toys with some of the shells, loading and reloading the cylinder, spinning it, and coming up with a different combination each night. CJ, AK, KK.

“What’s ya’ doin’?” wheezes Doc Phil, with a blood flecked, tuburlotic cough into his handkerchief.

“Jus’ tryin’ ta get this gun soes it fires ever’ time I pulls the trigger”, mumbles the old Illinois farmer, turned Marshall.

“Better check yur reserve gun too. When that startin’ gun are shot, yer goin’ ta need some high powered help, whilist yu’ reload that first gun”, Doc Phil said, as he checked his Double barrel shotgun (AK-47).

“Where’s that sharpshooter, KK Earp?” sputtered Doc.

“He’s up top a’ da’ saloon wit’ dat new fangled, repeatin’ rifle, an’ a telescope on the top. Can shoot a fly off’n the end of yer nose at half court, reload and shoot that fly again ‘for it hits the ground”, mumbled the cragged old Marshall, with a sly grin.

“Them Clantons is mean. They gots that nasty Ike Clanton (Coach Pill) and his two gunslingers ‘Dead Eye’ Kobe, and that Spanish Kid, from Memphis, who joined the Clanton gang for free!” said Doc, sneering.

“Cain’t worry ’bout that. Them Clantons spends money like a dunken cow hand in the saloon on Saturday night. They usually gets anything they wants. They’s an arrogant bunch, but that might be their downfall. They won’t be expectin’ us to unleash all this gunfire. Thems ain’t expectin’ an AK-47, an’ the sniper, sharpshooter, top da’ saloon,” said the Marshall, barely being heard above the dance hall piano and dancing Jazz Girls.

Just then, straight from the Gun Smoke TV set, D-Festus limped through the saloon doors, dragging his left foot. It was obvious Festus was lame. The old Marshall had agreed to pay the young gun slinger 70 million Pesos to help gun down the Clantons.

“Did them evil Clantons do this to you?, grumbled the old Marshall, with a hard look in his eye.

The young gun said, “Nah, I was over at the OK Corral, runnin’ through a practice game a’ how I’s gonna’ kill them evil Clantons, when this young Bull steps on ma’ foot. Hurts somethin’ fierse, but I’s gonna heal in time for the big showdown”, he grinned.

Soon, the sun will be coming up. The evil Clantons will be waiting at the OK Corral for a final shootout. Can the young guns, the old Marshall and Doc overcome evil and bring justice back to the West? Will Doc and the rest of the team remain healthy?

Having the young hired gun, an AK-47 and a rapid firing sniper in a 1881 gunfight seems, at first, unfair, yet, with the all the overpaid gunslingers, hired by the Clanton rustlers, there use is justified.

The plan is to confront them with the young gun and the posse, then, in a reserve role, unleash the AK-47, when they least expect it, from the bench. Finally, let the sharpshooter finish them off.

The gunfight is about to begin for real. Jazzaholic

I agree, the west is definately a shoot out. For the Jazz to win, they need to adopt the attitude of gunsligers, shoot fast, shoot first, and outlast your opponents. We have a deep “posse” and one of our real stengths lies in the ability of those additional posse memebers (i.e. our bench) to overwhelm, surround, and force surrender or just pick apart them Clantons piece by piece.
