Never could understand ice on the knees ( both knees in D W’s case) , Ice will slow the blood flow down, when there isn’t enough blood flow going down the lower legs into the muscles they will tighten along with tendons, end results will be a sprain– a pull — a tear– due to the aggressive way they come off the bench and play all iced up.
I just wish they’d warm the boys up and leave them warm not ice them down while they are on the bench.

My greatest fear this year!!!!!! Get better Darin but don’t try to come back too soon and get hurt again. Now is the time for everone else to pick it up a notch.

CC, Ice slows down blood flow sure enough, slowing the flow of things like bradykinins, tachykinins, etc which are involved in the inflammatory response. The inflammatory response includes pain, swelling, heat, etc. The inflammatory cycle can be broken and/or slowed using ice treatment. Ice is not the only treatment to use, but it is very effective. Of all the technological developments used in the training room, you might be surprised at what a “wonder treatment” ice can be. There are some injuries and conditions where ice is contraindicated, rest assured Gary Briggs and his crew are on the cutting edge of injury care and treatment technology.

Using the ice will also give him a good 5-10 years extra on his knees. You would be shocked at the ice baths they have in the many trainer rooms to keeo swelling down in many areas. From all our training on 30 some years working on the amulance we found ice to be one of our best friends!!!!

Oh thank god for the MRI results. I MEAN I thought this team was cursed for sure when I was watching the GAME. And the replays were so painful and hard to stomach. But that’s part of the game, can’t dwell about it. Nonetheless BK and RP need to step it up and be ready for the opening tip. Knights numbers are a OK. You can compare BK to a flex spot in FANTASY football line up. Not all that… but will get the job done. Knight has average 7.9 points a game, with 6.6 assist a game and about 2.2 turn over’s a game. Ronnie Price is entering his four season and is averaging 3.2 points a game, and 0.9 assist a game. Combine their stats and it’s not even close to DERON numbers. Coach Sloan will rotate both these players a lot and possibly throw AK and CJ MILES in the PG position. And if there is bright side to all of this… good thing it happen now and not in the middle or home stretch of the season. LOVE ya D-WILL. Go JAZZ!!!
