‘Korver: A Meyer Family Favorite’
‘Korver: A Meyer Family Favorite’

Alright, we as a family have been discussing this for the past few months now, and we suspect many others have too!  It’s time to get this discussion going on jazzbots.com.  We’ll give you our AT&T Wireless “Keys to Winning Big” this season and expect you to give us yours!

(Enter Jason Hart Brevin Knight tossing a Blackberry phone)

Dad isn’t satisfied with the current roster.  The 2 is still clogged, and we’re still lacking a defensive presence.  KOC is key in obtaining an off-the-bench defender for Almond and Harpring.

Mom is focused on the shooting consistency of her two crushes—Memo and Korver. Memo looks healthy from his summer off, and Korver should benefit most from the Idaho training camp.

Hugh’s still upset with Boozer.  The team’s success depends largely on Boozer’s success.  He’s got to start the season strong so he doesn’t lose his game and his confidence.

Meg wants everyone to get along.  She’s onto something as team chemistry is huge.  Is Boozer okay this is Deron’s team? Can AK accept his new off-the-bench role for 82 games?  The entire roster must believe that THIS IS OUR YEAR.

Mallory’s putting pressure on Sloan to utilize our talent at the two and three spots. He favors consistent rotations, but experimenting with the roster a bit could be the key to fully exploiting our strengths and versatility.

McCall loves Deron-to-Brewer alley-oops, but she acknowledges that Brewer’s development is huge.  He must demonstrate a more consistent jumper so his defenders can’t leave him to clog the lane.

Will this all happen this season, and if it does, are we guaranteed the title???  Now it’s your turn to share what you think the big keys are for a successful season!

Oh gosh. Thanks for choosing Korver as the picture–now the entire jazzbots community is going to think we are just a family of a bunch of Korver-loving girls who don’t know a thing about the game! No one will take our posts as valid anymore! Well, I assure you readers that while there is no denying that Korver is quite the looker, we know there is much more to Jazz basketball than high socks and a pretty face.

For the love of Korver! Actually Mal, I think you’re safe. We know the Meyer family has much more depth than that. Looking forward to your next Korver-licious post.

I think you all hit on key issues and I hope they all come to fruition. However, if I had to side with just one, I would side with Hugh. Boozer needs to be the all star that he is for 82 games and the entire post season. Furthermore, move those feet Booz and play some D. The preseason has shown glimpses of him taking a more active role and becoming a defensive leader. KEEP IT UP!

Being Hugh’s wife, I have to agree with you Boondock…I can’t tell you how many times I have heard Hugh say to the T.V. as we are watching the jazz play..”Boozer, move your feet!” It seems that poor defense is often just a bit of laziness that can be remedied with a little more movement and thought. I think Booz is ready to step-it up!

I am sorry but I agree with Hugh most. I was very disappointed in Boozer during the playoffs last season and feel that in order for us to win big, he really needs to step it up. He cracks under pressure and I hope he has worked on that for this season. He is key to the team and we can’t make it all the way without him. I also agree with Meg. I am a bit concerned with Boozer knowing that this team is Williams team. Obviously, Williams can and will improve this season (as he should every season) but he has always come through, especially when we need him most. He will take us all the way as long as the team will only back him up!
