Tickets Are Still Available!

I remember when the Stockton and Malone era was coming to a close. The Jazz were still a playoff team but they weren’t considered a threat to win the Championship. I was going to be downtown one Saturday, so I stopped by the Delta Center to get tickets for the Jazz/Clipper game later that night.

I knew the Jazz had been selling out games for years, but with a Jazz team on the decline and a Clipper team – well a typical Clipper team… I figured there would be tickets available the morning of the game. Of course I was wrong. Even the Clipper tickets were sold out weeks in advance back then.

That’s why I thought it was strange when I heard the commercials today “Tickets still available for tonight’s game.” It’s the season opener of a Jazz team on the rise against a division and geographical rival where the Jazz are officially debuting a new sound and light system – and as of 11:00 there were still 900 tickets available.

Come on fans – get out to the game tonight.
