Something To Be Excited About

Hey folks.  It’s been an entire summer since I last posted.  I’m excited to be back as a Jazz Blogger.  I’ve been struggling to get back in the swing of things with the upcoming season.  Maybe it’s because I’ve been distracted by this whole election thingy.  Maybe it’s because of this economy.  Maybe it’s the [...]

Opening night, Arena upgrades, Williams injury, successful debut for Kirilenko as the sixth man, close game, the Jazz Nuggets contest had many storylines. One of the biggest factors in the Jazz win however might just be the non story.  The story that never happened.

When last season began, most NBA fans had no idea who Linas [...]

Don’t get us wrong.  We loved being back in the ESA amid screaming Jazz fans, but we have to admit that the night was bittersweet–and by that we might mean more bitter than sweet.  A series of malfunctions really got us down…
Malfunction #1: “The Bleacher Malfunction.”  First of all, we aren’t “poster” people. We never [...]

Every year there is a discussion in our class about what rules will govern our class conduct.  I let the kids pick the rules, and they usually come up with what they know to be appropriate behavior.  In an extension of that process, I asked my students about other situations where people have to follow [...]

My Take: Jazz vs Nuggets

SUMMARY
Boozer was big time and that is what you have to have when Deron is out.
That is a tough win without Deron.  To be in a every possession game without your leader is a tough task to open the night.
Price wasn’t great but he didn’t throw up on himself and cost the team the game.  [...]

Tickets Are Still Available!

I remember when the Stockton and Malone era was coming to a close. The Jazz were still a playoff team but they weren’t considered a threat to win the Championship. I was going to be downtown one Saturday, so I stopped by the Delta Center to get tickets for the Jazz/Clipper game later [...]

‘Who Disses the Mailman?!’ (AP)
So the pre-season hate-fest has begun. And while the Spazz-nation is freaking out about it, I’m feeling right at home. Why? Because, it happens EVERY year. It is what it is. If the Jazz win 60 games the previous year and go deep in the playoffs, they might be predicted to [...]
