‘Love and Support, Memo Style’

I just wanted to give a shout out to all of the mothers, fathers and significant others of the Jazz players AND to all the mothers and fathers and significant others of Jazz player ‘wanna-bes’.

For all of the time spent giving rides to practices, games and camps.  For providing constructive criticism at precisely the right time.  For the countless hours shooting hoops, playing “HORSE” or “AROUND THE WORLD” or setting up obstacle courses in the backyard.  For trying hard to hold your tongue during games.  For enduring all coaches, good and bad with a smile (most of the time).  For the tears when things didn’t go just right.  For the heart-wrenching “waits” to find out if he made them team.   For making sure they brought the ‘treat’ for games on the right day.  For the juggling of the checkbook to make it possible for those jerseys, camps, SHOES that all too often barely make it through one season.  For those quick prayers offered from the bleachers when the stakes are high.  For the pep talks and motivation you provide.  For the love and support that never waivers.  For seeing the potential and nurturing it.

I just want to say  . . . where would any of us be without these important support people?  Hats off to the behind the scenes moments that combine, with the talent and hard work of the athlete, to make them the awesome players they are today!
