@Lew23 - Thanks for clarifying. And if you're the die-hard Jazz fan you claim to be you have found the right place. Also, thanks for the advice - I'll keep it in mind.

Derrick im a die hard jazz fan why would I be on here if i wasn't. I love the Jazz and I love most of our fans. Im probally the biggest jazz fan in the state. I didnt miss watching a game all last season. that includes preseason. I happened to come across this article and didnt agree with it. So I simply stated my opinion. I dont think it was wrong that we booed our players. Linda is the one that commented on my post . Then you sit here and tell me that im insulting everyone. just because we booed our players doesnt mean we dont love them. all we were doing is letting them know that we were not happy with the way they performed that night. Go ahead and make your comments if you disagree with me you can say anything you want its not going to insult me. I have my opinion you respectfully have yours. Just remember if you cant take the heat get the hell out of the kitchen.

Lew23, it's probably not the best idea to get into verbal disagreements with the moderator of Jazzbots.

"We have Lakers fans for that". Classic!

@lew23 - Spend more time on Jazzbots or even this blog post and you'll clearly see agreeing with the author is not a requirement. As far as keeping your opinions to yourself that is your choice. One things for sure, if you're here just to throw insults at bloggers, players and Jazz fans we don't need you. We have Lakers fans for that.

If you're keeping it about the love and concern for the Jazz we're good.

Are we good?

Linda im sorry if you took that comment to be mean no need to take things personal thank you for defining that for me now I understand.

@Derrick Daye FYI maybe you should let linda fight her own battles. Im not the one that asked if I knew the definition of a fan. I quess If im not quite at the status shes at on here ill just keep my opinions to my self and try not to read stupid articles that people write. I didnt know we had to agree with the author. Why do they allow comments on this blog if we have to agree with what every one has to say on here. If your going to make a comment make sure your prepared to hear about it derrick.

@Lew23 - Just FYI, I'm establishing an 'insult free zone' for Linda. Not that she can't handle it but she has been a treasured participant here since day one - a status she's earned.

Did I say I was an expert? Well, if given that title I will let you know what Sports Magazine defines a fan as...".someone who loves the game and if the game is a group sport then they give their allegiance to that team." Sorry I won't be around for the next few days to hear your rather nasty reply to me. There are times the word "expert" can be used nicely and times it is not meant to be nice.

Hell yah we are going to boo especially when your paying a bunch of money for tickets. Why wouldnt we the jazz got tired at the end of the season and didnt compete. Rarely did they ever compete on the road they let other teams just push them around. They only compete if the crowds on there side hence our record on the road. Why do you think jerry sloan said we needed to get tuffer we probally have the wimpiest team in the NBA. Ronny price showed a glimpse of competiveness when he got into fishers face in the playoffs. If you compete you are intense you dont let other teams push you around you dont allow the player your guarding to dunk on you or outperform you. Of course we are going to boo when we lose to the worst teams in the NBA. So what about the injuries theres no excuses when your getting paid millions of dollars. Jazz fans our sick of watching our players not give a damn. Oh no they got booed that was so rude of us well it was rude of them for playing like a bunch of wimps.

This is also late, but I feel I should mention this. If i'm not mistaken, the nets game was also the game in which millsap was injured right?(after achieving a double-double in just two quarters) I remember hearing from D-will how down this got the team. Think about it. Your starting power forward has been out(and of course D-will before that, Okur and AK for a few games, even brewer at least once for family reasons, your 5 best players have already sat out several games), your back-up has filled in admirably, and then he too goes down with an injury. I mean, guys how much can one team take? This is a team I'm sure had the expectation of at least getting to the western conference finals and facing the Lakers, but this game was a dark dark moment for the Jazz, who are a young team who play with alot of emotion, and this time it was depression. Cut these guys some slack. When I heard Millsap went down I was like NOOOOO! Imagine how the team felt. I mean honestly, AK isn't a power forward and we've got rookies backing up Okur so we can't very well move him over to PF, so who the heck does that leave you with even if you do move AK up to that position? There's no one to back up CJ miles(who's getting better, but definitely the weakest link in the starting line up, when everyone's healthy), no one to back up AK, and only rookies backing up your center(albet give credit to Koufus, I seriously think that kid can be an all-star someday, unfortunately we probably won't be able to keep him that long, but he has serious upside to be a great shot blocker, someone who could hit a mid-range jumper and rebound)...that's a seriously seriously depleted team without two amazing PFs, especially when no one else really qualifies as a PF(okur, but then again that leaves only rookies at center, or Jarron Collins which come on, Koufus is better than he is by far)...in the end, did they deserve to be booed? Possibly, but I like the thoughts about how D-will must have felt. He's the type of guy like Garnet who plays with high emotion and already thinks if his team loses it's his fault. I have no doubt D-will was doing everything he could and no one was more frustrated than he was, knowing that Harris' explosion was in large part his fault. To add booing to that wasn't fair. Maybe some of the younger players deserved it(and it should have been beneficial, it sure as heck would have angered me and I would have taken that aggression out on the court, if not that game the next) but I have no doubt that D-will took it the hardest, which sucks because it shouldn't have been directed at him. Anyway I've rambled enough. I for one will continue following the Jazz through thick and thin, but this season has definitely been a disappointment to all of us, no doubt especially to the players themselves...I think we got spoiled last year by having the Jazz go nearly undefeated at home, and then again as others before have mentioned with the practically injury free Stockton and Malone. We complain about what other teams have always had to deal with, losses at home and injuries to key players(look at Tracy Mcgrady for example or Grant Hill, superstars in their own right but injury plagued) Well, enough ranting, hopefully someone finds this useful. Go Jazz!

I know that this is a late response and it might not get read , but I am going to say what is on my mind for those that do read and care . I have been really impressed with how we are doing with our key players hurt . We should be thankful that our record is not worse off for the weather we have had to indure . So we got our butts beat , and maybe they didnt play with the intensity they we know they can play , but doesnt everybody have those days at work ? So why shouldnt these guys have them ?
I am so disappointed by the fans , you guys that are at the games should be making more noise then I am hearing . If you are disgusted with them , then why not cheer harder with more ferver ? I have seen some games that the fans are qiuet , when they should be making some noise , even when we are struggling , maybe even more so . You fans that are able to be at the games so feel lucky to be there . I wish that I could . I am going to try for a home game soon .
Let us remember why we were the best home team in the league last year . Support our Utah Jazz . We will prevail against those injuries , that is certain . We have the best team in the NBA .
Go Jazz Go !!!!!!!!

For the money the players get paid and the money we pay to go to games, a little booing goes with the territory. I was there and the boos were not because they were losing. The boos were because the effort, or heart, was not there. That team gave up and quit playing and the crowd could see that and let them know that wasn't acceptable. I think some of the Jazz players recognized that and responded for the balance of the game - but not all of them.

Williams, and Sloan, have got to decide if he is ready to go or not. He has hurt them against the Nets and the Heat. I love D-will. But if his minutes need to be less for him to be affective, Sloan has got be willing to change up his substitution pattern and give Price more minutes. Or, D-will has to give full effort all game. Walking the ball up and matador defense isn't helping the team.

That team gave up and quit playing and the crowd could see that and let them know that wasn’t acceptable. I think some of the Jazz players recognized that and responded for the balance of the game – but not all of them.

Walking the ball up and matador defense isn’t helping the team.

I think I was glad that I was in warm California during all of this. I can't really say how I feerl about booing but I truly believe if someone was next to me and offerring to give me $5 if I would boo the Jazz, I couldn't do it. I've been really down following some bad happenings in my life and any boos would send me down further. We live in a free country so every one can do as they see fit but even if that $5 was going to $50 I don't think I could do it.

Sometime the home team deserves a good boo, despite the injuries etc.

A little shame can be a strong motivational factor, just don't turn into NY or Philly.

Secretly, do you think there are times when Jerry wants to boo too?

Love our Jazz and don't boo, but respect the right of others to do so.

JayRay, rockin the floral references! P.S. Most of us in Utah don't know what plumeria smells like, in fact most people don't know what it is. So, for the uninformed its a very fragrant tropical bloom.
