Christmas Past
Posted by Johnathan Kendrick on December 25, 2008
Merry Christmas and thanks for spending some time with us this year here at the ‘Bot.’
Here is a quick little comparison of this season and last - Christmas style.
This Christmas the Jazz are sitting 3rd in the Nortwest Division with a record of 17-13. The Jazz have already lost 4 games at home – which equals the total amount of home losses the team had all of last season. Tomorrow the Jazz will release the results of Paul Millsap’s MRI and he is listed as questionable for Friday’s game. If it turns out that Millsap will be watching the game in street clothes he will just be the next guy in a long list of Jazz players who have dealt with an injury this year. It’s not exactly where everyone was hoping the team would be at this point. But before we all let out a collective “bah humbug” let’s take a quick moment to visit with the Ghost of Christmas Past.
Last year on Christmas the Jazz were healthy, but still only boasted a record a record of 15-14. Including a dismal 6-12 road record. It wasn’t until the Jazz got the late Christmas gift of Kyle Korver that things really started turning around last season. At that point they won 27 of their last 28 home games on their way to winning the Northwest Division and a 4th seed in the playoffs.
Compared to last year the Jazz are still in a good spot, and still in contention if they can just get healthy. So Cue Tiny Tim, If not to deliver his famous line and make us all feel good, maybe he can suit up and get some minutes at power forward.
