Revolutionary Resolutions!
Posted by Jackie Corbridge on January 12, 2009

When we got back to work after our winter break, we started off making some New Year’s resolutions. Mrs. C. told us that the New Year is a good time to take a look at ourselves and make some changes that will help us to do better at our “work” which is here at school.
From the dictionary we read, a resolution is a formal statement of the feelings, wishes, or decisions of a group. A firm determination to improve and make better.
After we wrote a few goals for ourselves; we thought that we would share some ideas of how we think the Jazz could improve their playing. Here are 10 of our suggestions:
1. Drink more water! Drinking water would make the team healthier
2. Every player get 20 points each game. If every player got 20 the Jazz would never lose!
3. Have fun when you play. I you make up your mind to enjoy what you are doing then you will do better at it!
4. Wear the same color uniform at least for the year. That way the players won’t get confused who is on their team.
5. Pass the ball more. Hogging the basketball won’t allow the team to get as many points.
6. Be friends with each other, go out to dinner together to build your friendship. Playing with your friends is a lot more fun and you do better when you are playing with your friends.
7. Don’t underestimate any of the other teams. Remember any team can win on any given day.
8. Tire the other team out by playing defense, then score!
9. Make sure everything is good at home before you go play so that you aren’t worried about your family while you are playing.
And finally:
10. Listen better. When I listen to my teacher better I usually do better!

Why do we adults struggle so much when all we have to do is ask a well informed child? I hope someone can get a copy of these and see that the Jazz read it!!
