My Memories of Larry H. Miller
Posted by Jackie Corbridge on March 27, 2009

I got to know Larry H. Miller in the last 8 months of his life because my Dad was his primary care physician. My Dad became much more than just his doctor, he was his friend. He became my friend also.
One Friday afternoon Mr. Miller, his wife, and 2 of his sons picked us up and took us to his lodge in Idaho. It was one of Larry’s favorite places to go because he loved to fish. He really wanted to fish with my Dad and our family. While they spent time fishing, I went out with his grandson and my brother on their paddle boats. we went around the lake near the shore and caught lots of cool frogs.
Another time, Larry called my Dad and invited us to a Jazz game. We got to park where all Jazz players and the opposing team park. We got to eat dinner at the top of Energy Solutions with Mr. Miller and his wife in the 100 club. We sat on the front row and cheered on the Jazz. After the game, he took us into the locker room of the Jazz and introduced us to the players. Andre Kirelinko gave my older brother his Jazz backpack and then Andre came up to me and my little brother and said, “I don’t want anyone to be jealous” so he took off his shoes, signed them and gave one shoe to me and one to my brother. Derron Williams took some time talking with us and signed the shoes too.
We spent some time with Mr. Miller and his wife in their home. They were always so kind and generous. He shared the things that he loved with me and my family. He was a well-known business man, a community leader, and helped many people in the community but he still took time and made me feel important. Even though I only knew him for a short time, he is someone that my family and I will never forget.

Thank-you for sharing those personal memories. For those of us who only knew Mr. Miller by what he did in the community, it is wonderful to hear stories of his personal life. We all miss him very much.
