“Fisher Surprised by Negative Energy’’

“Lakers’ Fisher surprised by negative energy in Utah’’
“The Jazz let Fisher out of his contract, and he signed with the Lakers, believing Tatum could find superior doctors in Los Angeles.”
Really??? The Jazz let Fish out of his contract to sign with the Lakers???
Uhhhhh, who remembers that?
How long will this “poor little me” nonsense go on?
It’s been almost 2 years now! He’s still “surprised?”
Hasn’t it long ago run it’s course?
This is getting to sound like Bill Clinton saying “I did not have sex with that woman.”
Get over it Fish!
You are booed at the ESA just as much as any other Hated Laker.
This is a continuing, totally bogus attempt to spin the facts.
1. Fish’s daughter was being treated with the BEST medical treatment available, in New York City, for retinoblastoma, until his release from the Jazz on July 3rd, 2007.
2. At the time of his release, it was publicly stated he wanted to be released so he could be closer to his daughters care (which was in N.Y.C, NOT L.A.!)
3. After his release, he signed to play 700 miles further from his daughters primary treatment location in N.Y.C. (Tatum has only received followup care in LA, which could be provided almost anywhere)
4. He signed NOT with a N.E. team, as expected, but with the Hated Lakers. The Hated Lakers get booed, because they are just that…The Hated Lakers. If he would have signed with The Beloved Clippers, he would have still been in LA, with his family and friends, and had rousing cheers, from Jazz fans.
5. The Jazz were more than willing to give up his bloated salary and gain a roster spot.
6. The Lakers were more than willing to accept another “freebee” (see Pau Gasol) for nothing in return.
7. Fish plays much better in the triangle offense, than in a point guard offense.
8. Fish and his wife returned to their friends and family.
9. It was actually a win-win situation for both teams, Fish’s family and his career.
10. Fish is a great guy, but disingenuous, to put such an illogical spin on the stated facts at the time. His memory is either very selective, or he has told the lie so long, he actually believes it.
Maybe I should have titled this the ‘top 10 reasons Fisher should stop whining’, and let David Letterman run with it.

I remember reading a media report weeks after he was released (during the summer, still) that the treatment had been completed. If the treatment was going to be completed before training camp even, why the fuss over a release?
Also, Boozer asked to be released for Carmani’s treatment (SL Tribune reported it). Seems like Larry’s generosity was seen as an opportunity for some players.
I hope this isn’t out of line, but I interviewed Larry (rest in peace) right before he was hospitalized, and he mentioned that he wasn’t sure if Fisher had taken advantage of him, but he had his suspicions. Booing Fisher is totally within a Jazz fan’s rights.

Fish wants everyone to think he’s a choir boy, yet he has been very deceptive during the entire process.
I couldn’t tell any difference in his boos vs. the rest of the Hated Lakers. They were far less than the Kobe boos or the rest of the team introductions.
His open admission that Kobe was in constant contact before his release, probably passing on management’s desires (can you say tampering?), adds to the deception.
But, still the Jazz got a roster spot and shed a bloated contract. Still a good deal for the Jazz.
It’s all about spin and saving face.
Forget the facts.
