the whole thing is those palyers can’t play face up defence Dwill can’t keep up with the piont gaurds in the league memo to much of a wimp to bang with the big guy and there are so many power forwards now day that pull the ball out and strech the court and boozer can’t guard a power forward like that he is to slow. now if sloan addopted a zone style defence they would be a desent defence. Every time they went sone for the most part they got stops. the reason why is cause u can plant Booze down in the post to push them around and u got two great pass deffenders in AK and Brewer. Of course though sloan wont go for that he has ran this for years and, isn’t about to change his style so his players can do better it’s not how he opperates. so bringing in matt Barnes isn’t going to help much at all both systems he has been in with pheonix and golden state don’t paly deffence so it would be to much work to teach him to play good hard D again.

Barnes’ style of play reminds me a lot of Gordan Giricek, a shooter with no defense. Otherwise, I think we need a total reconstruction of the Jazz system. I have watched the Sloan system since Stockton and Malone and I agree that the Sloan system works, but it will not get us a championship anytime soon. The players need to take what they have learned from Sloan and move on to adapt to the changing NBA style of play.

Wow! I’ve already blogged of my little crush on Mr. Jailbait Matt Barnes. I repeat, something about that neck tat just gets to me. With that said, the only reason I’d love to see him on our ball club is because it ups my chances of seeing him around town. Even I know that’s not a good enough reason to get him here.

I agree with JR . We need someone that is going to fit in the Sloan system . Also we need someone that is a good defender . That is my take .

I would like to see them get a few more things done but as far as him fitting in with the jazz it would work out very well. We push the ball and get up and down the court and Matt has proven he can play that game very well. i think this would be a better move then the gracia thing on here. Atleast with matt he plays deffence and likes to push the ball with Garcia he’s is a pure shooter and, you already got a few guys on the team that can shot the ball. like I said this wouldn’t be my first move this off season but, if he is stiull availble right before the season kicks off go try and snatch him up.

we already have a d leaguer that is almost better than barns. so id say pass on barns. we cant go for small fries this year. look to get a stronger PF or develop the rookie front line.
