Deron & Korver Dodge Barrage
Posted by admin on August 19, 2009

Deron Williams and Kyle Korver are offering Jazz fans the chance to face off against them in the 2009 Dodge Barrage, a charity dodgeball tournament they are hosting at Zions Bank Basketball Center on Saturday, September 12.
Teams must consist of eight to 10 players and registration is open to all competitors 18 years of age or older. Each team is guaranteed to play a minimum of seven games and the winning team will win a chance to compete against a team comprised of Utah Jazz players in a King of the Court game immediately following the bracket play on Saturday afternoon. All competitors will receive an official 2009 Dodge Barrage event t-shirt. To sign up or for more details, please visit www.deronwilliams.net or www.kylekorver.com.
“This event is going to be a lot of fun and great for the community,” said Deron Williams. “I just hope there is a team out there that can compete with me and my teammates.”
Williams and Korver are documenting their training and inspiration for the dodgeball tournament, videos of which can be viewed currently at www.deronwilliams.net.
Proceeds from this inaugural event will benefit the Christmas Box House of Salt Lake City, which offers emergency residential services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or a foster care placement failure.
“I’ve always wanted to play in a dodgeball tournament, and now that I get to do it and help raise money for a great organization like the Christmas Box House, what a perfect day.” said Kyle Korver. “I look forward to seeing all the great team uniforms.”
Spectators are welcome to attend the event; admission will be $20 per day pass.
Zions Bank Basketball Center is located at 1414 South 500 West, Salt Lake City

We would go far! My throwing arm isn’t so great, but I can catch anything that’s thrown at me, even if its thrown at me by Deron Williams.
We can get this together, right, Jazzbots team?

Wow, Jazzbot Dodgers, I might even be willing to pay to see that. Of course it would be for a good cause. Spandex is definately the word that comes to mind when I think of you guys.
Good-luck

Hey, how about some of you younger gals being cheerleaders? Don’t know what the “grandmas” could do except cheer and hand out water bottles. I can’t believe they are actually letting the two play this. Couldn’t someone get hurt? Wouldn’t it feel awful if you hurt Williams or Korver so much they were out for pre-season? Been a long time (no, a long ,long time since I have seen a dodgeball game. Much chance of someone getting hurt? If there is a blogger team, let me know and I may just spring for gas to come watch.

I would definately come watch $20 would be a small price to pay. If we formed a commentors team against the bloggers it might just heat up things on JazzBots.

OWN US!!!! Hmm I would be worried but all I’d have to do is put a cardboard cut out of Matt Barnes, Ronnie Brewer, and Andre Iguodala in the stands and you’d be dazed, confused and an easy out
. It’s Estey that I’m worried about with his cracked out lime diseased monkey routine (it could be a new form of martial arts).
