10 Games To Watch This Season
Posted by Jared Conger on September 04, 2009

Call them turning points, call them bright spots and dark corners, but every year has key points that define a season. I have outlined 10-games that will impact our 2009-10 campaign for the trophy.
Fri, Oct. 30 vs. L.A. CLIPPERS – Never deny the importance of the home opener. Will this Clipper team come out showing what a difference an off-season of roster moves can make? Baron Davis has sworn that this season is about retribution. Get your tickets now and catch Blake Griffin in SLC for the first time as the Jazz will be looking to continue their strong performances at home!
Sat, Nov. 14 @ Cleveland – Can you think of a better way to end a 4-game Eastern Conference road trip than to land in Cleveland on the other side of a back to back? Our first taste of the newly created Shaq and LeBron-Bron show, it will be a test of both endurance and character – especially when your season is just 10-games old.
Sat, Dec. 19 @ Charlotte – Wow, so it’s December and here we are back on the Eastern side of the states, and once again we are looking at a back to back in the middle of a 5-game swing. The big question for us to look into will be, how much better is Charlotte? Did they improve their back-court and front line after it was all said and done?
Sat, Dec. 26 vs. PHILADELPHIA – Something special about a game played at home the day after Christmas! Can this lone home game in the middle of road trips bring Christmas cheer? The Jazz will be coming off of a nasty Florida trip that hasn’t been too kind the last couple of years…
Sat, Jan. 2 vs. DENVER – After what appears to be a tough month of December, the Jazz will be starting off the 2010 portion of their campaign on their home turf. Will this game feature an amazing comeback ala last year’s 19-point comeback win on March 6, 2009.
Wed, Feb. 10 vs. L.A. LAKERS – Once again we will be seeing the Lakers in our last game before all-star break. Perhaps the powers that be in the scheduling department saw this as the game so nice they thought they’d try it twice. The Lakers helped the Jazz kick off a nice run last year, will this game become another signature moment int he season? Pregame 2009
Sun, Feb. 21 @ Portland - Portland. The City of Roses. What moves will the Blazers have made? Will the Jazz have pulled the trigger on any trades? Will the Jazz have what it takes to stick it to a divisional rival on the road? So many questions at this important time of year.
Wed, March 17 MINNESOTA - The Timberwolves played the Jazz tough last year, or was it that the Jazz didn’t play the T-Wolves tough? None the less, Minnesota will be sporting some new additions this season, one of which will be in the form of a new starting point guard (or so we would believe…) in Jonny Flynn. Is that the piece of the puzzle they’ve been missing, or did they deal away too many veterans during the off-season? Only time will tell (my heart says this game will be in the middle of a big winning streak – Let’s hope so)…
Mon, March 22 BOSTON – Paul Pierce and the rest of the “Big 3″ will be landing in SLC about a week post-St. Patty’s Day. Will that be too long for the luck of the Irish to last for them? Will their big men be healthy this time around (KG went down in the Utah game in SLC with his knee injury that eventually put him out for the season). Regardless this late season match-up will be telling for both teams as we hit the final weeks of play. 2009 Pregame
Fri, April 9 @ New Orleans – Where will the Jazz wind up in the Playoffs? Will we have home-court advantage? I’d circle this game on your calendars as its outcome will likely talk the talk about how the Jazz will walk the playoff walk. Besides, I love me some Chris Paul vs. Deron Williams match-ups!
Got a different opinion? Tell me how it is and which games are on your radar this season as key points of the 2009-10 Utah Jazz campaign.

just clarify this: are these games that will be fun to watch or points in the season to watch FOR?
