Who: Linas Kleiza
Why is he available: free agent
What would it take: for Klieza to find no market and for the Jazz to still have some space under the cap
Why would they do it: the Nuggets have serious luxury tax issues as well. Kleiza has a qualifying offer of 2.75 a year so it would likely [...]

Who: Francisco Garcia (6′7″ shooting guard, Sacramento Kings, 13 pts; 3 rebs; 2 ast — 44% 40% from three)
Why is he available: contract runs through 2013 averaging 6 million a year.  Jumps from 1.4 million to 6 this year.
What would it take: Jazz could move an expiring contract of [...]

Who: Matt Barnes
Why is he available: Free Agent
What would it take: Not clear what the market will be.  Suns are limited with their money – Last year he earned 1 million
Why would they do it: Because Kevin Ferguson told them too…
Why is this a good move: Energetic active player. Became [...]

BOOZER V. MILSAP
The number one conversation amongst Jazz fans right now is if Paul Milsap’s 11 straight double doubles while playing for Carlos Boozer proves he is capable of stepping in if Boozer leaves in the off-season. It may prove he is capable, but it certainly hasn’t proven the Jazz would be as good.
With this [...]

FINAL SCORE JAZZ 104 THUNDER 97
The night ended with the crowd chanting Jerry Sloan
1,000 wins as a Jazz Coach for Sloan.
The game was never close.
5-0 start without Deron is very nice.
The road trip is going to be tough without Deron but they just gave themselves some leeway.
Jazz got [...]

SUMMARY
Boozer was big time and that is what you have to have when Deron is out.
That is a tough win without Deron.  To be in a every possession game without your leader is a tough task to open the night.
Price wasn’t great but he didn’t throw up on himself and cost the team the game.  [...]

‘More Years With Okur?’ (M. Majchrzak – NBAE/Getty Images)
Extensions for Boozer and Okur were the stories in the yesterday afternoon session. Talking to Dan Sheldon of KUTV2 and the FanSports Network, both said they were not interested in talking about an extension or where they trying to get a deal done.

‘Jerry Time’ (Ronald Martinez – NBAE/Getty Images)
Today Jerry Sloan held an hour long meeting with the players before the opening practice.   His message had two parts.   First, you have a chance to be very special.  The talent is here to set your sights and goals at the highest level.   Part two was the important part.  [...]

‘C.J. Miles: More Minutes?’ (Noah Graham – NBAE/Getty Images)

If you could move one piece of the Jazz, what would it be?  Can CJ Miles become a bonafide rotation player?  Who is your ideal free agent?  Who should be the coach of the Jazz when Jerry Sloan retires?  All of those questions and more are answered [...]
