Jason Thompson didn’t go to a big school. In fact 4 years ago at 6′6” tall, Jason signed to play basketball at Rider University in his home state of New Jersey. It wasn’t the Division I program he had dreamed of – but it was still college basketball. Now a Senior – He stands [...]

Great Expectations?

Picking the draft is like picking the NCAA Basketball Tournament. No one picks it perfect, but everyone tries. It only takes one “upset” to throw all the predictions off and crash the whole board. Some highly thought of guys are going to slide, and there will be a surprise first round pick that everyone will [...]

‘Beijing Bound’ (Andrew Bernstein - NBAE/Getty Images)
As far as the selection process for the USA Mens Basketball team is concerned, all that is left the official announcement and maybe a fight or two over jersey numbers. The press conference to formally announce the team is needlessly set for Monday morning. It’s kind of a formality [...]

Sunday the Jazz brought in 5 players for a pre-draft workout. While only time will tell if any of the attendees will end up in Utah long term – at least one of the attendees was surprised/relieved by his first visit to Salt lake City.

‘Donaghy Days’ (Ronald Martinez - NBAE/Getty Images)

One of my favorite TV shows is “30 Rock” on NBC. Alec Baldwin plays NBC President Jack Donaghy. In one episode Donaghy, who is in the running to become President of GE hires a Private Investigator to investigate himself, to see what dirt GE might find while [...]

The off-season surgery carousal for the Jazz continued today.  Matt Harpring underwent successful scope surgery to remove two bone spurs from his right ankle.  The surgery was performed Thursday in Atlanta.
When we get more information about the recovery timeline, we will share it with you.

‘Odd Man Out?’ (Andrew Bernstein - NBAE/Getty Images)
There are a couple good story lines leading into the selection of the Team USA Olympic basketball team. A couple questions to be answered. From all indications it looks like Carlos Boozer will be one of the 12 selected to compete for Team USA this summer in Beijing. [...]

The next big step for the Jazz is the draft. To prepare for the draft, the Jazz are scheduling potential picks for workout sessions with the coaching staff and front office. If you want to stay in the loop and learn a little bit about the prospective draftees before the big night – check out [...]

Korver will be re-examined in two weeks and is expected to start working out in a pool in three weeks.
Nothing has been said yet but I would guess this means Korver is off the “Basketball Without Borders” tour.

Kyle Korver is in New York to have a bone spur removed from atop his left foot this evening.
Not a lot is known at this time as to how long he was bothered by the bone spur or, if it had any effect at all on his game this past season. A report on [...]
